At 4 a.m. on December 7, supervised by Nanjing Lukou International Airport Customs under Nanjing Customs District, an all-cargo flight carrying 32 tons of cross-border e-commerce goods departed from Nanjing Lukou International Airport to Amsterdam, Netherlands.
With New Year approaching, it’s the peak shopping season in Europe and the United States. Nearly half of the cargo on this flight is cross-border e-commerce goods, mainly including clothing and toys, said Xie Yuanyuan, GM Assistant of Nanjing Langqin International Logistics Co., Ltd
From November to December this year, Nanjing Airport has increased the frequency of some international all-cargo flights to 48 trips, continuously enhancing international freight capacity to fully support the cross-border e-commerce shipments during the peak season.

Since the beginning of 2024, Nanjing’s cross-border e-commerce exports have been surging ahead. Statistics show that during the January-November period, the import and export cargo volume supervised by Nanjing Lukou International Airport Customs reached 67,200 tons, a 29.3% year-on-year increase. Among these, the export volume of cross-border e-commerce goods reached 18,000 tons, marking a 51.80% year-on-year growth.
Xie Yuanyuan revealed that this year their company has witnessed robust growth in exports to Europe and the United States through cross-border e-commerce, with shipment volumes soaring as the year-end approaches. Logistics speed is the core competitive advantage of the industry. Over the past two months, the increased frequency of Nanjing’s international all-cargo flights, coupled with the efficient customs clearance processes and mature operational models, have all bolstered their confidence.

Currently, Nanjing Lukou International Airport has opened six international all-cargo flight routes and 25 international (regional) passenger flights with cargo holds, serving 14 destinations covering regions including Europe, Oceania, and Asia.
To ensure the expansion of international cargo flights and actively promote high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, Nanjing Lukou International Airport Customs has strengthened coordination with local customs, tailoring a fast review, fast inspection, and fast release customs clearance model for cross-border e-commerce goods.
They have set up specialized teams to closely follow flight schedules and provide 24/7 customs services, ensuring immediate inspection upon arrival. This further boosts the confidence of cross-border e-commerce enterprises in ‘going global’ and helps accelerate the pace at which local and surrounding areas ‘sell globally’, said a responsible officer from the Inspection Department I at Nanjing Lukou International Airport Customs.
