What policies should enterprises consider when establishing factories overseas? How can the products of small and medium-sized enterprises be better “exported under another company’s flag”? On January 13th, the “Ning Industrial Products Promotion” enterprise “going global” service connection and exchange activity was held at the Yangtze River Delta Enterprise Going Global Service Center. This event was hosted by the Nanjing Municipal Department of Industry and Information Technology and co-organized by the Yangtze River Delta Enterprise Going Global Service Center. Representatives from 60+ member units of the Yangtze River Delta Enterprise “Going Global” Service Alliance and interested “going global” enterprises from relevant sectors gathered together. The main contents of the event included policy interpretation, case sharing, and demand connection, aiming to build a bridge for the industrial and information technology enterprises in the city to explore overseas markets.

Central and local authorities work together to help enterprises smoothly “go global”
“Ninggongpin Push” is an important brand created by the Nanjing Industrial and Information Technology Bureau to assist local industrial enterprises in expanding their markets and securing orders. Through organizing supply and demand matchmaking activities, it builds channels for enterprises to connect and collaborate. In recent years, many enterprises in Nanjing have shown a strong desire to “go global” to expand their business. This year’s “Ninggongpin Push” enterprise “going global” service connection and exchange activity closely targeted the difficulties of enterprises “going global”, effectively breaking through the “last mile” of government and enterprise services through precise policy interpretation, scenario-based case analysis, and regular connection mechanisms.
The enterprise “going global” service connection and exchange activity chosen by the Yangtze River Delta enterprises’ “going global” service center is precisely a snapshot of Nanjing’s efforts to assist enterprises “go global” and provide one-stop high-quality services. This center is jointly created by Jianye District and China International Engineering (Jiangsu) Co., Ltd., and its service content covers the entire cycle of enterprises “going global”. At the event, the center’s director deeply interpreted the policies and risk prevention measures for enterprises “going global” based on actual cases, providing valuable and beneficial references for the participating enterprises to explore overseas markets. “Make good use of the differentiated competitiveness of China Workers International in multiple professional fields and advantageous sectors to help ‘Made in China’ and ‘Chinese equipment’ go global.” At the exchange event, a relevant official from China Workers International stated that they hope to create an “inter-governmental linkage, regional collaboration, resource aggregation, and internal and external integration” overseas service platform through cooperation with the “Ninggongpin Push” brand, and to deepen and solidify the high-quality joint construction of the “Belt and Road Initiative”.
Coordinated development to solve the “obstacles” for small and medium-sized enterprises
“Our company specializes in manufacturing amusement equipment, such as go-karts. However, we haven’t established factories overseas. Many of our customers have purchased our products and expressed their desire to assist in building the venues locally. But we don’t have the necessary qualifications and hope to be able to connect with relevant resources in the future.”
“We plan to invest in a project in Vietnam this year, mainly in the field of photovoltaic new energy. However, we are not very familiar with the local policies and the procedures for handling things. Could you provide us with some professional suggestions or assistance?”
At the exchange event, many heads of small and medium-sized enterprises raised the problems they encountered during their overseas expansion. Additionally, representatives of two enterprises that intended to go overseas presented the company’s business operations and their overseas expansion needs on the spot. They engaged in a heated discussion on hot topics such as market access in overseas markets, supply chain collaboration, and the cultural environment of target countries. The Nanjing Department of Industry and Information Technology and the Yangtze River Delta Enterprise Overseas Expansion Service Center provided precise matchmaking and on-site answers and clarifications. Through multi-angle interactive exchanges, the intending enterprises truly felt the warmth of the services. “For us small enterprises, going overseas is quite challenging. Today, having such a platform and large enterprises taking us out there makes me feel like I have a ‘backing’. It also boosts my confidence in the future development of our enterprise,” said one enterprise representative with such sentiments.
“We will continue to integrate high-quality resources and deepen cooperation with overseas service providers.” A relevant official from the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology stated that in the future, based on the different overseas target regions, the differentiated needs of enterprises, and specific industries, the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology will launch more precise and comprehensive overseas services. It will organize expert teams to provide customized in-depth guidance, and organize the “Nanjing Industrial Products Promotion” overseas tour in an industrial chain alliance model. We aim to create an overseas version of the “Nanjing Industrial Products Promotion” supply-demand matching event, helping Nanjing enterprises expand in overseas markets and further promoting the high-quality development of the city’s industrial economy.
