On December 17, Zhou Hongbo, secretary of the municipal party committee, conducted research in Xuanwu District. He stressed that we must thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Central Economic Work Conference, further comprehensively deepen reforms, expand high-level opening up, build a modern industrial system in accordance with local conditions, promote high-quality development of the service industry, accelerate the formation of new quality productivity, and continuously enhance regional development vitality.
Hongshan New Town is a new regional development center that Xuanwu District is working hard to build. At the New Town Planning Exhibition Hall, Zhou Hongbo learned in detail about Xuanwu District’s industrial layout, project attraction and Hongshan New Town development plan, and required strengthening the rigid implementation of the plan, promoting the rational layout of functional groups within the area, and orderly connection of urban interfaces between blocks.
He said that industry is the driving force behind urban development. We must adhere to the integration of industry and city, vigorously attract chain-leading enterprises and leading enterprises, build and make good use of a number of functional platforms with complete industrial chains and outstanding comprehensive benefits, and continuously output new impetus for the high-quality development of urban areas.
The Jiangsu Central Asia Center was jointly built by Xuanwu District and SOHO Holdings Group. It is a key project to implement the “Belt and Road” initiative and relevant provincial and municipal arrangements. Zhou Hongbo learned about the center’s business layout in detail and visited the resident company SOHO Cloud Commerce. He hoped that SOHO would seize the new opportunities of cross-border e-commerce and drive more local companies to “go overseas in groups” to expand market space.
He said that the industrial development of Central Asian countries and China is highly complementary, and there is broad space for cooperation. We should more actively integrate into the national strategy of opening up to the west, better play the role of Jiangsu Central Asia Center as a bridge and link, and deepen economic, trade, cultural and technological exchanges.
At Jiangsu International Data Port, Zhou Hongbo inquired in detail about the platform’s operating model and application scenarios, and learned about the development of the data industry in Xuanwu District.
He said that data elements have unique value and potential in the development of new quality productivity. Xuanwu District should make concerted efforts in the supply, circulation, application and other aspects, strengthen demand-driven orientation, cultivate a good industrial ecology, promote the safe and orderly use of data and efficient cross-border circulation, and continuously enhance its aggregation and influence in the development of the province’s data industry.
During the investigation, Zhou Hongbo also visited the Yingtuo Garden Community’s dining assistance center for the elderly to inspect the completion of the annual people’s livelihood projects, demanding strengthening of food safety control and promoting convenient, accessible and more sustainable development of dining assistance services for the elderly.
He stressed that people’s livelihood issues are the government’s solemn promise to the people. We must adhere to problem-orientation, act within our capabilities, conduct in-depth research and formulate plans for next year, and better respond to the people’s urgent needs.
