　　As one of the first batch of national agricultural high-tech zones in the country and the only one in the Yangtze River Delta, Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone closely follows the positioning of “International Agricultural Science and Technology Cooperation Demonstration Zone, Yangtze River Delta Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Source, and Science and Technology Revitalization Rural Model Area” to solidly promote high-quality development.

Innovation is the most distinctive symbol of Nanjing National Agricultural High Zone.　　Recently, Nanjing Zhouzi Future Food Technology Co., Ltd., located in Nanjing National Agricultural High Zone, was selected into the list of “2025 Nanjing Cultivated Unicorn Enterprises”. In 2023, the company completed the world’s first pilot production of cell-cultured pork in a 500-liter bioreactor, harvesting 5 kg of cell-cultured meat at one time.

“It takes months or even years to raise pigs and cattle, but when cell-cultured meat enters factory production, the production cycle only takes three weeks.” According to the relevant person in charge of the company, “the construction of a pilot plant with an annual output of 10 tons is currently being accelerated, and it is planned to submit food safety approval this year and move towards commercialization.” ”

Soon, the first large and medium-sized animal biosafety level 3 laboratory in Jiangsu Province will break ground, which is planned to be completed in 2026, focusing on the field of animal health and public health safety, building an innovation platform for the cross-integration of veterinary medicine, biotechnology and information technology, and providing key technical support for the prevention and control of major animal diseases.　　In order to make the transformation of achievements “come out”, Nanjing National Agricultural High Zone has strengthened cooperation with agriculture-related universities and institutes such as Southern Agricultural University, Southern Forestry University, and Jiangxi University. In November 2024, Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone and Jiangsu Second Division signed a strategic cooperation agreement on the development of science and technology to empower new quality productivity, and unveiled the establishment of an industry-university-research cooperation base and a new quality productivity research center to promote the transformation and agglomeration of more scientific and technological achievements in Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone.
