In the golden autumn season, the banks of the Yangtze River once again attract global attention. This morning, the “Open Cooperation for a Bright Future” 2025 Nanjing Jiangbei New Area International Investment and Cooperation Promotion Conference, guided by the Provincial Department of Commerce and jointly hosted by the New area and Pukou District, was opened.
This conference attracted nearly 500 distinguished guests from 27 countries and regions around the world, representing a total of 300 multinational companies. Among them were 20 presidents of well-known domestic and overseas business associations and over 40 senior executives of Fortune 500 companies. On the spot, Shi Mingde, the president of the China-Germany Friendship Association and the former Chinese Ambassador to Germany and Austria, used the word “comprehensive” to describe the industrial ecosystem of the new district.
This “synthesis” has also been recognized by Lou Jianfeng, the president of BASF Group, a Fortune 500 company from Germany, in the Greater China region. He shared with the guests present that it is precisely because of the new district’s complete and comprehensive industrial chain and policy guarantees that it has become the preferred location for BASF to deepen its layout in China.

Among the 300 globally renowned multinational companies (institutions) attending the conference, there are the top 50 in the global chemical industry such as Eastman from the United States, Huntsman, and Air Chemicals, as well as the German hidden champions Lenodebauer and Voith Group. There are also a number of international giants such as BASF Group of Germany, Yuan Yun Company of the United States, Roche Diagnostics of Switzerland, Philips of the Netherlands, Pengrui Group of Singapore, and Mitsubishi Corporation of Japan. At the meeting, the awarding ceremonies for international partners in the dual recruitment and introduction and international investment promotion ambassadors were held successively. A relevant official from the Investment Promotion and Commerce Bureau of the New District introduced that this event also organized a “Multinational Companies’ Visit to the North of the Yangtze River” activity. According to the investment demands of the guests and in combination with the leading industries of the new district, an investigation of the industrial ecosystem of the new district was arranged.
During the preparatory stage of the conference, some foreign-funded enterprises have already begun to explore specific cooperation directions, and everyone is very confident. A relevant official from the Investment Promotion and Commerce Bureau said.
