The leading enterprise, Golden Estate, is the epitome of the strawberry industry. Its core brand, “Berry Rabbit”, includes four types of strawberries: “Red Beauty”, “Sweet Wild”, “First Love”, and “Black Pearl”. These four varieties have obtained the first-ever “Bay Area Certification” for agricultural products and have successfully entered markets such as Hong Kong, Singapore, and the United Arab Emirates.

“Red Ballet” is the signature winter fruit product exclusively produced by Golden Estate for “Hundred Orchard”. The “Merry Berry Pudding” from Honglan Blueberry Origin Base has gained popularity with its sugar content exceeding 15 degrees and a unique texture similar to a soft pudding; while “The Taste of First Love” precisely presents a delicate balance of eight parts sweetness and two parts acidity, complemented by a white and slightly pinkish appearance, and is deeply loved by consumers.

Come to Lishui to witness the cutting-edge strawberry technology. How are the delicious strawberries in Lishui produced? The answer is that it relies on a brand-new technical system. This system leads to green and safe production with “zero pesticide residues”, and achieves intelligent and precise production through hanging cultivation, elevated cultivation, and intelligent glass greenhouses. It is also supported by specific technologies such as the Internet of Things, water and fertilizer integration, and intelligent environmental control.

Entering the greenhouse of Mei Bei Yuan Agriculture, the strawberries here are grown on racks that are one meter above the ground. Liu Donghua, the director of Mei Bei Yuan, explained that the soilless high-rise cultivation combined with the intelligent irrigation system can double the yield.

In Fengmao Technology’s smart greenhouse, IoT sensors are installed throughout the facility, and real-time data on temperature, light, water and air are uploaded. The AI “brain” automatically regulates supplementary lighting, irrigation and fertilization. With over 40,000 strawberry seedlings in one greenhouse, the daily management requires no more than two people.

With the support of advanced technology, Lishui strawberries have obtained the green food certification, as well as the China GAP and GLOBALG.A.P. international dual certifications. The continuous technological innovation has driven the Lishui strawberry industry to transform and upgrade towards standardization, branding, and full-chain value-added.

In Lishui, enjoy a sweet strawberry tour

New varieties, new technologies and new flavors will eventually be integrated into a broader industrial framework. In Fuhaibian Community of Honglan Subdistrict, strawberries have gone beyond the category of agricultural products and have become a key factor in driving the development of the entire tourism area.

As a well-known “strawberry land”, this area with nearly 10,000 mu of strawberry fields transforms into a vast “open-air experience park” during the harvest season.
Every year, tens of thousands of tourists come here from afar. More than 60% of the strawberries do not need to be transported long distances; they are happily picked up by the tourists right on the farm fields. Along with the berry farmers, the numerous farmhouses and guesthouses that have sprung up everywhere are equally busy.
“During the strawberry season and the plum blossom viewing period, it’s our busiest time,” said Xiao Bo, the owner of Xiangye Homestay, with a smile. “On holidays, the rooms are fully booked a week in advance.”

This is precisely the sweet fruit resulting from the deep integration of “strawberries” and “culture and tourism”. By meticulously developing the distinctive agricultural tourism routes of “strawberry picking” and “visiting the ten-thousand-acre plum garden”, Fuhaibian Community attracts over 4.1 million tourists every year.
