A brand-new deep blue S07 slowly rolled off the intelligent production line of Nanjing Chang ‘an. Not far away, the supporting enterprises responsible for car seats, power batteries and intelligent on-board devices were busy with production… On the New Energy Avenue in Lishui, a complete new energy vehicle can almost be “assembled” on the spot. Five years ago, the output value of Lishui’s new energy vehicle industry just exceeded 37 billion yuan. Today, this figure has surpassed the 60 billion yuan mark, with an average annual growth of nearly 6 billion yuan. The production of complete vehicles has risen from 10,000 to 100,000 units, and the production capacity of parts accounts for 70% of the city’s total. From “one vehicle” to “one chain”, what exactly does Lishui rely on?
Leading enterprises take the lead, and the industrial ecosystem “converges chains and clusters”
In just five years, we have crossed three steps of over 10 billion yuan, and the leading role of industrial leaders has been indispensable. As the first enterprise in Lishui with an output value exceeding 10 billion yuan, Nanjing Changan is not only the leader in the industry but also the sole production base for the Deep Blue S07 model. With the continuous popularity of the Deep Blue S07, Nanjing Changan’s output value has reached 14 billion yuan in 2024.
The strong “magnetic force” of leading enterprises has attracted a large number of supporting enterprises in the industrial chain. Not long ago, at a promotion event for high-quality development of the industrial chain, Zhejiang Chiyun Technology Co., LTD., which has a deep cooperation with the Changan Group, signed a contract to settle down. The company’s flagship head-up display product is currently in business negotiations with Deep Blue Automobile. Wang Yunfan, the chairman of the company, said straightforwardly, “Wherever our customer base is, that’s where our base will head.”
Such stories keep unfolding in Lishui. On November 30th, the new intelligent factory of Nanjing Huateng Auto Parts, with a total investment of 500 million yuan, was completed and put into operation in the development zone. This enterprise specializing in steering gears has added a new force to the new energy industry chain. Today, Lishui has gathered three major vehicle manufacturers, namely Changan, Kewei and Hengtian, as well as over 100 core component enterprises, forming a coordinated industrial ecosystem. From January to October this year, the output value of the new energy vehicle industry in the entire region reached 54.67 billion yuan, increasing by 7.6% year-on-year, and 59,700 new energy vehicles were produced.
Intelligent manufacturing empowerment, “Innovation and efficiency improvement” of the production system
Unlike traditional manufacturing industries, Lishui’s new energy vehicle industry has been standing at a high starting point of “intelligence +” from the very beginning. Here, scenarios of intelligent manufacturing are everywhere. Nanjing Changan’s 5G fully connected smart factory was put into use at the end of 2022 and has been successively selected for provincial and national 5G factory projects. In the workshop, over 400 mobile robots are working in coordination under the command of an intelligent system, capable of freely switching between more than 3,000 personalized combinations, increasing the production cycle of a single vehicle to 102 seconds.
The wave of intelligent manufacturing has been launched throughout the region. In October this year, the new factory of Yika Smart Car, with a total investment of 3 billion yuan, was officially put into operation. Inside the workshop, red mechanical arms are moving in an orderly manner, and AGV carts are shuttling autonomously. On average, an unmanned vehicle rolls off the production line every six minutes, interpreting the new speed of “Lishui Intelligent Manufacturing” with “building-block” flexible production.
Nanjing Huateng Auto Parts Intelligent Factory has set up 50 fully automatic cold heading commutator production lines, with an annual production capacity of 12 million units/sets. By comprehensively applying intelligent equipment and production management systems, the factory has achieved full-process digital control, and the overall production efficiency has increased by more than 30%. The company’s chairman, Yang Jixi, said.
Scene-driven, future mobility “accelerates implementation”
From production and intelligent manufacturing to application and implementation, Lishui is promoting the deep integration of new energy vehicles with intelligent connected and driverless technologies. After reaching full production capacity, Yika Zhiche can produce 20,000 unmanned vehicles annually and has been applied in multiple fields such as logistics, security, and environmental sanitation. Unmanned logistics vehicles not only alleviate the pressure of human resource shortage, but also optimize driving efficiency through intelligent route planning, significantly reducing operating costs. Du Wanyun, the project director of Nanjing Yika Zhiche Intelligent Factory, introduced.
The pace of cutting-edge exploration does not end here. At the recently held 2025 World Intelligent Manufacturing Conference, Kewei Group showcased its innovative products such as Skyworth Urban Spirit and unmanned delivery logistics vehicles, comprehensively demonstrating the company’s breakthrough achievements in the field of unmanned driving. Nowadays, driverless vehicles have been put into application in real scenarios such as airport shuttle services and express delivery.
Lishui is systematically laying out the intelligent connected vehicle industry: 20 unmanned logistics vehicles have been put into operation throughout the district, achieving regular operation in multiple scenarios such as unmanned cleaning and smart security. Open 12 intelligent connected vehicle test roads, covering the main urban roads and core park road networks. A 25-kilometer-long unmanned delivery demonstration route of “Jiaoyou Kuai Gong” has been created to facilitate the smooth operation of the “last mile” of urban and rural logistics.
