By building “one brain and three centers”, it has achieved full-process data integration and efficient business collaboration from order reception to product delivery, successfully completing the transformation from large-scale standardized production to personalized customization of special steel, and is at the forefront of industry change.
In terms of technological innovation, Nanjing Iron & Steel was the first in the industry to carry out data governance, becoming one of the first listed companies in the country to have data assets included in the balance sheet, and it also undertook the construction of the industry’s first trusted data space. Meanwhile, Nanjing Iron and Steel has actively responded to and deeply implemented the national “Artificial Intelligence Plus” initiative. It has formulated a three-year plan of “100 Scenes and 1,000 Models of Artificial Intelligence” and innovatively released the industry’s first steel large model architecture based on swarm intelligence, “Yuan Ye”, which has effectively promoted the intelligent leap of the entire process.
The systematic upgrade of intelligent manufacturing has brought significant economic benefits and operational efficiency improvements to Nanjing Iron and Steel. Its key performance indicators such as the comprehensive economic benefit index, labor productivity per employee, per capita tax and profit, and per capita profit have consistently ranked among the top in the industry. What is even more valuable is that Nanjing Iron and Steel, through its high-tech platform companies such as Jinheng Technology and Jinyu Intelligence, has systematically output its mature transformation experience. It has provided professional digital transformation services for over a hundred enterprises, forming a strong industry demonstration effect and radiation driving capacity. Among them, Jinheng Technology, leveraging its inherent advantages of being “born from large industrial enterprises, having industrial genes, and being familiar with industry mechanisms”, successfully established one of the first batch of national manufacturing digital transformation promotion centers.

At present, the level of integration of informatization and industrialization in Nanjing has reached 74.3%, which is 10.7 and 5.1 percentage points higher than the national and Jiangsu provincial averages respectively. The rate of numerical control in key processes, the popularization rate of digital management and operation, and the popularization rate of digital R&D and design tools of key enterprises all rank among the top in Jiangsu Province.
Next, the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology will earnestly study and implement the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, adhere to the directions of intelligence, greenness and integration, promote the digital and intelligent transformation of the manufacturing industry, and consistently implement the three-year action plan for deepening the “intelligent transformation, digital transformation and networking” of the manufacturing industry at the provincial and municipal levels. We will promote the national pilot program for the integrated application of “5G+ industrial Internet” and the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises to a high standard. By deeply implementing the five major actions of “gradient cultivation of smart factories, digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, upgrading of digital infrastructure, empowerment of digital transformation applications, and enhancement of service support capabilities”, we will continuously provide strong impetus for the high-quality development of the city’s manufacturing industry.
