On December 4th, the “Ningxin Innovation Product” – Nanjing Application Scenario Observation Conference and the First Manned Flight Ceremony of Zijinshan eVTOL were grandly held at Zhongshan Sports Park. As the grand finale of Nanjing’s “Ningxin Innovation Products” series of events in 2025, this event, themed “Zhongshan’s First Flight · All Things Set Sail”, is hosted by the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, and co-organized by the Municipal Transportation Bureau, the People’s Government of Xuanwu District, the Administration Bureau of Zhongshan Cemetery, and Nanjing Culture and Tourism Group. This event is jointly organized by Nanjing Scene Innovation Development Co., Ltd. and Jiangsu Wanyou Low-altitude Flight Co., LTD. This is not only an important practice for Nanjing to implement the strategy of strengthening the city through industry and promote the innovation of the entire region’s scenarios, but also a vivid portrayal of the integration of culture, business and tourism as well as the integrated development of the two industries. It injects strong impetus into the innovation of the entire region’s scenarios, the efficient integration of culture, business and tourism, and the integrated development of the two industries in Nanjing.
The application of low-altitude technology in Zhongshan’s cultural and tourism scenarios has opened up a new situation
Before the event, a static display and interactive session was set up, allowing the on-site guests to directly experience the achievements of Nanjing in scene creation, industrial cultivation, and the integration of culture and tourism. As the core highlight of the event, the first manned flight of the eVTOL at Zijinshan was successfully completed. The unmanned manned aircraft took off smoothly and successfully completed the route. The event was live-streamed in real time through aerial photography and multi-camera cabin perspectives, achieving air-ground interaction and allowing guests to experience the charm of low-altitude flight in an immersive way.
Du Jingnan, the deputy district head of Xuanwu District Government, said that Xuanwu has unique conditions for promoting the development of low-altitude economy. In terms of project cooperation, we have successfully promoted the application of a number of new enterprises, new technologies and new products. In terms of industrial support, Xuanwu’s data resources, computing power scheduling, and carbon sink management can provide full-chain services for aircraft. In terms of scene creation, we have innovatively developed a new model and scene for the integrated development of “aviation + culture and tourism”. Wang Dongming, the Party Secretary and Director of the Zhongshan Cemetery Administration Bureau, stated that with the support of multiple units including the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Transportation Bureau, the scenic area has joined hands with Wan You Low Altitude to create Nanjing’s first low-altitude cultural and tourism scene, the “Zijin Mountain eVTOL Manned Flight” project. This maiden flight marks the beginning and direction of the industry’s development. In the future, the construction of Zhongshan’s “low-altitude + cultural tourism” industry and related bases will add a brilliant aerial landscape to Nanjing.
During the event, the unveiling ceremony of the Nanjing Zijin Mountain Low-altitude Application Scenario Innovation Base was successfully held. Xu Xiaodong, a member of the Party Committee of Nanjing Culture and Tourism Group, and He Zhikai, the chairman of Jiangsu Wanyou Low-altitude Flight Co., LTD., jointly unveiled the plaque for the base. This base is the first demonstration platform in Nanjing that integrates “low-altitude flight + cultural tourism experience + technology research and development”. It will rely on the ecological and cultural resources of Zhongshan to develop characteristic projects such as aerial viewing and aviation study Tours. Meanwhile, the signing ceremony and the eVTOL delivery ceremony were held simultaneously. In the future, Nanjing will lay out the research and development and operation base for low-altitude aircraft.
A thousand drones light up the sky, and the integration of culture, business and tourism bursts with new vitality
At 5:15 p.m., 1,000 drones took off, weaving a brilliant pattern in the air, fully demonstrating the vitality of the city and its industries. This visual feast combines low-altitude flights with scenic area Tours and aviation science popularization, becoming another highlight of the event.
In recent years, Nanjing has been making efforts to build the “First Nanjing” IP, actively introducing special policies to support it, and the innovative exploration of low-altitude economy has also been continuously extending to diverse scenarios. This drone light and shadow show is a typical practice of low-altitude technology empowering culture and tourism. It not only expands the integrated business model of “culture, business and tourism + low-altitude economy”, but also opens up a new path for night-time cultural and tourism consumption and aviation science popularization in Nanjing, injecting strong new impetus into the high-quality development of the tourism industry.
The Ningchuang event has come to a successful conclusion, and scene innovation has embarked on a new journey
As the grand finale of the “Ningchuang” series of activities in 2025, this event is a vivid microcosm of Nanjing’s scene innovation practices. “Ningchuang” has built an efficient bridge for industrial collaboration. The person in charge of the organizer said, “This event is not only an annual summary but also a brand-new starting point.” A relevant official from the Scene Division of the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology said that in 2026, Nanjing will focus on the development strategy of building a strong industrial city, accelerate the cultivation and opening of high-quality scenes, promote the large-scale application of new scenes, speed up the industrialization of new technologies, new products and new business forms, and build a leading scene opening city in the country. We will continue to carry out the “Ningchuang” series of activities to promote cross-field supply and demand exchanges and facilitate the application and implementation of high-quality innovative achievements.
In the twilight of Zhongshan, the roar of aircraft gradually subsided, but the pace of industrial innovation in Nanjing never ceased.
