On October 29th, the 10th China Advanced Materials Industry Expo and the Military-Civilian Dual-Use New Materials Conference was grandly opened in Nanjing. Six academicians from domestic polymer materials, advanced metal materials and other fields attended the conference and delivered keynote speeches, interpreting the latest trends in the development of the materials field. Meanwhile, several projects, including the Anka High-precision Machine tool R&D and production base and the Wusuo Intelligent mobile charging robot, initially reached cooperation intentions with the Nanjing Economic and Technological Development Zone at the conference, with a total investment of nearly 2 billion yuan.
“Strengthen the backbone of special steel and lay the foundation for a strong country.” The National Advanced Manufacturing Cluster of Special Steel Materials in Southern Jiangsu organized over 20 leading enterprises in the industry, including Nangang, Meigang, Shagang and Zhongtian, to make a collective appearance at this grand event. They set up a special exhibition area of nearly 500 square meters to showcase the achievements of the cluster construction and the high-end products of the enterprises. As the only national-level cluster in the national steel industry, the Sunan Special Steel Materials Cluster ranks first in the country in terms of industrial scale and comprehensive competitiveness. It has created numerous “high-end star products” and has also become the “eye-catching star” of this grand event. The national single-champion products of Nanjing Iron and Steel Group, such as 9% nickel steel and ultra-high strength wear-resistant steel, were surrounded by visitors. The technology display of the ultra-thin strip production line of Shagang Group attracted a large number of visitors to stop and watch. The high-end products displayed by Meigang Company, Changbao Steel Pipe and other enterprises also attracted many cooperation intentions. This grand event also attracted many local Nanjing enterprises such as Baowu Magnesium Industry, Meitelin Co., Ltd. and Damai Technology to participate in the exhibition and conference.
As the leading city of the special steel materials cluster in southern Jiangsu, Nanjing has been deeply implementing the high-end quality strategy in recent years. The high-quality development of its industry has taken a brand-new step forward. The number of high value-added and high-tech content products has been increasing continuously, providing solid and reliable material support for many major national equipment and key projects, and building an important high-performance special steel plate production base at home and abroad. Looking to the future, Nanjing City will continue to fulfill its responsibility as the leading city of the cluster, and make greater contributions to building a collaborative ecosystem for the cluster and promoting the high-quality development of the special steel materials industry.
