The 11th Industry Digitalization Conference was held in Nanjing recently, at which the “2024 China Industry Digitalization Top 100 List” and other items were released. In the “Top 100 List”, 19 companies from Jiangsu were selected, and Nanjing occupied 12 seats, ranking first in the province and the top in the country for 10 consecutive years . This year’s list includes Huaneng Zhilian, Huitongda, Zhongchu Zhiyun, Manbang, Focus Technology, Juentang, Fengyun Network, Beden Medical, Changjianghui, Xinkangzhong, Sanbaiyun, Maiduoduo, etc. Among them, Huaneng Zhilian, Huitongda, and Zhongchu Zhiyun broke into the top ten of the list.

As lunch time approached, crew member Lao Li took out his mobile phone, opened the “Yangtze River Hui” APP, and bought noodles, cola, and MSG in the drone area. He filled in his name, contact information, and ship number, sent the anchorage location, and then paid and placed the order. Ten minutes later, the drone “takeaway boy” delivered the goods to the “ship”.
The Yangtze River is the golden waterway for shipping in my country. With the rise of a number of Internet companies such as Yangtze River Hui that mainly provide shipping services, it is becoming a reality for millions of boat people to “work on the water and live on land.”
“The orders will appear simultaneously on our ‘Huishansong’ drone smart logistics application platform. After the drone is loaded with packaged goods, it will automatically determine the delivery location based on 5G real-time visual recognition and AR projection.” Zhai Haifeng, deputy general manager of Jiangsu Changjianghui Technology Co., Ltd., said that each time a ship docks at a berthing and unberthing service area, it consumes about 125 kilograms of diesel. Now, ships do not dock and people do not go ashore. Calculated based on the drone delivering supplies to 20 ships in service every day, it can save about 900 tons of ship fuel consumption a year.

“The customers of micro-tillage machines are relatively scattered. In the past, we had to ship the goods to the logistics park first, and then they would transport them to the provincial or municipal transfer points, and finally deliver them to the customers. After several rounds of tossing in the middle, the machines would be damaged and the freight would be high.” Hu Zhangyang said that since 2017, the company has started to find vehicles through Manbang’s digital freight platform Yunmanman.
“The overall logistics cost has dropped by 25%.” Hu Zhangyang did some calculations and found that the agency fees charged by the Information Department (i.e. the intermediary company in the traditional freight industry) and the freight price difference caused by information asymmetry have been saved; the transportation costs from the company to the logistics park have been saved; and the wear and tear costs, which previously cost an average of 20,000 yuan per machine and cost up to hundreds of thousands of yuan a year, have also been saved. In 2020, Beden Medical, a five-year-old digital supply chain service platform company for medical devices, began to build an overseas version of the platform and established two subsidiaries in Africa, walking on “two legs.”
“We hope to help terminal medical institutions reduce costs and increase efficiency through a digital centralized procurement model, and also help Chinese medical device companies expand into overseas markets,” said Ding Haibo, founder and CEO of Bedan Medical.

In 2024, there are 19 companies in Jiangsu and 12 in Nanjing; in 2023, there are 18 companies in Jiangsu and 12 in Nanjing; in 2022, there are 12 companies in Jiangsu and 10 in Nanjing; … After checking the list, the reporter found that the number of companies in Nanjing on the list has led the province and even the country for 10 consecutive years. The “Top 100” companies did not fall from the sky, and the digitalization of industries is not a building built on a flat ground.
In 2010, mobile payment had just obtained a “license” and was put into operation, the concept of 4G was still popularizing, and netizens were discussing that “traffic is too expensive to promote.” Nanjing has formed a software industry cluster development pattern with “one valley and two parks” of China (Nanjing) Software Valley, Nanjing Software Park, and Jiangsu Software Park as the focus, and provincial software parks such as Xuzhou Software Park and provincial Internet Industrial Parks as the support, laying a solid foundation for the development of the digital economy.
By the end of 2023, the city will have built a total of 38,000 5G base stations, with the number of 5G base stations per 10,000 people ranking first in the province and among the top in the country. After the completion of the second phase of the Nanjing Intelligent Computing Center, the total computing power will reach 180 quadrillion times per second, making it the largest and most powerful domestically produced intelligent computing center in the Yangtze River Delta region.
What’s important is that Nanjing knows that in addition to competing in the number of “top 100” cities, it must also compete in the quality of the “top 100” cities.
For example, we will formulate a three-year action plan, issue the “14th Five-Year Plan”, and release special action plans to continuously build a fertile digital economy soil suitable for the growth of the “Top 100” companies. This includes creating a good ecological environment to help potential players “jump and reach” and successfully advance to the “Top 100”, as well as giving key support to advantageous industries such as electronic information, software, and information services, and providing services to existing leading companies to make them better and stronger.
The China Industrial Digitalization Conference has been held for 11 consecutive years and has been held in Nanjing every year since 2020. This is a two-way choice – the conference values the foundation of Nanjing’s industrial digitalization, and Nanjing also cherishes the industrial digitalization.
Looking at the Yangtze River Delta, the Pearl River Delta in the south, and Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei in the north, industrial digitalization has become a key factor in the new round of regional competition.
