The largest machine tool exhibition in Asia – the 14th China CNC Machine Tool Exhibition – is currently being held in Shanghai (from April 21st to 25th). The Yongyang Street of Lishui District has organized more than 20 enterprises to participate and extend an “invitation” to global industrial chain enterprises.
On the morning of April 22nd, an important signing ceremony was held at the exhibition site. The leading enterprise in the industrial machinery sector – Wuhan Heavy Machine Tool Group Co., Ltd. signed a contract with Lishui District. The Wuhan Heavy Machine Tool Group’s East China Manufacturing Base project was officially launched, which will precisely fill the gap in the specialized fields of Lishui’s industry.
Wuzhong Group is a first-level subsidiary of the central enterprise China National Weapon Industry Group. Its headquarters is located in Wuhan, Hubei Province. It is one of the 156 key projects during the “First Five-Year Plan” period of the country. It is the leading enterprise in China with the most complete range of extreme specifications for heavy and super-heavy machine tools and the most complete industrial chain. Its products cover 8 major categories, 40-plus series, and 400-plus varieties. The enterprise possesses a number of national-level innovation platforms such as the National Enterprise Technology Center and the Postdoctoral Research Station. It has outstanding capabilities in the research and development of CNC heavy machine tools and has broken the foreign monopoly on several core technologies. It provides in-depth services for strategic fields such as major equipment, national defense industry, aerospace, etc.
At this exhibition, Wuzhong Group made its debut by unveiling the first domestically-produced high-speed, high-precision adaptive intelligent horizontal machining center. They also showcased a dynamic model of an extremely heavy and large-scale CNC five-axis gantry mobile turning and milling compound machine. The core components were all independently developed, and it is a landmark achievement of the country’s advanced equipment manufacturing industry.
To meet the demands of the new energy, aerospace and other fields for agile, efficient and intelligent production lines, Wuzhong Group has shifted from “large and heavy” national key equipment to a product matrix of “three small machine tools”. The Wuzhong Group’s East China Manufacturing Base project located in Yongyang Subdistrict focuses on the research and production of small lathes, small龙门mills and small boring machines. After the project is completed， its annual output value will exceed 100 million yuan and it will create over 100 jobs.

Xu Zhenghong said in his speech that Wu’s decision to establish a business in Lishui was not only a strategic choice for the company to deeply engage in the Yangtze River Delta region, but also a high-level recognition of Lishui’s industrial foundation and business environment. Yongyang Subdistrict will, with the most pragmatic approach and the most considerate services, handle all project procedures throughout the process, efficiently promote the delivery of the project site and the implementation of policy support, and fully solve the problems encountered in project construction, ensuring that the project can be implemented quickly, constructed quickly, put into production quickly, and yield results quickly.
It is reported that this exhibition lasts for 5 days and gathers over 2,000 enterprises from 27 countries and regions worldwide to showcase their products, covering the entire chain from hardware to software and from standalone devices to production lines.
During the exhibition, Yongyang Subdistrict collaborated with 20 local enterprises such as Qiaofeng Intelligent, Xi’an Jilang, and Baoteng Intelligent to participate in the exhibition. The investment promotion team moved between various exhibition halls to conduct “embedded” investment promotion, deeply connecting with leading enterprises in the industry, and providing on-site answers and proactive commitments to the core demands of enterprises such as land planning and facility support. Currently, apart from Wu Zhong Group signing the contract, Yongyang Subdistrict has also reached landing intentions with 4 participating enterprises, and Shanghai Aohu, Weimar, and Sanzhong Precision, among others, have won considerable orders.
The concentrated achievement of investment promotion stems from a solid industrial foundation. Yongyang Subdistrict, as the core area of the national CNC machine tool industry in Liushui District, has established a complete industrial ecosystem covering R&D, manufacturing, sales, and after-sales services, creating a 10-minute industrial support circle. The logistics and communication costs for enterprises have been reduced by 15% to 20%. By the end of 2025, the park will have 70 enterprises engaged in complete sets of machine tools, functional components, and related supporting industries, forming a complete industrial matrix, with an annual output value of 4.3 billion yuan.
