On December 11th, the International Agricultural Science and Technology Cooperation Exchange Conference between Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone and the Nordic Sustainable Development Association, with the theme of “Integration, Co-creation, and Winning the Future”, was held at the Science and Technology Innovation Center. Representatives from research institutions and enterprises in Nordic countries such as Sweden and Denmark engaged in in-depth dialogues on topics including the introduction of international advanced agricultural technologies, the flow of high-end talents, and localized innovation, injecting strong impetus into the high-quality development of agricultural science and technology in Nanjing.
This exchange meeting is guided by the Nanjing Association for Science and Technology, jointly organized by the Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone, the Lishui District Association for Science and Technology, and the Jiangsu Representative Office of the Nordic Sustainable Development Association, and co-organized by the Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Center of the Swedish National Research Institute and the Danish Symbion Science and Technology Park. The event attracted many international experts to participate online, including Jonas Engstrom, the director of the Agricultural Science and Technology Innovation Center of the Swedish National Research Institute, and Torben Sonnichsen, the chairman of Bioliving in Denmark. During the theme sharing session, the Swedish expert team took the lead in presenting cutting-edge technologies: Director Jonas Engstrom shared Sweden’s cooperation demands and typical projects in the field of agricultural science and technology innovation via video link. Dr. Torben Sonnichsen from Denmark highlighted the patented technology of feed for yellow croaker farming. Dr. Torben Sørensen presented an integrated solution of modern slaughtering technology in Denmark. It is worth mentioning that Zhang Shouting, the executive president of the Nordic Sustainable Development Association, shared on the spot the ecological treatment technology of pesticides in Sweden.
This event is part of the 2025 Nanjing Association for Science and Technology’s “Overseas Intelligence Serving Nanjing” guiding Fund Project. The event invites experts from home and abroad, research institutes and well-known enterprises, etc., to focus on how to promote the introduction, digestion, absorption and re-innovation of international advanced agricultural technologies, high-end agricultural professionals and advanced management experiences, facilitate the organic combination of international advanced resources and local actual demands, and achieve the localization application and innovative development of introduced technologies. We will conduct in-depth discussions on jointly promoting win-win cooperation in agricultural science and technology projects and enhance exchanges and cooperation at home and abroad in areas such as talent mobility, scientific research and project collaboration, and market expansion.
The relevant person in charge of the Science and Technology Association of Lishui District stated that in the future, they will promote the effective connection between international innovation resources and the district’s scientific and technological innovation demands through the model of “government providing the stage, enterprises taking the lead, and scientific research providing support”, and inject strong technological impetus into the integrated development of scientific and technological innovation and industrial innovation.
