An artist who has won numerous domestic and international awards such as “The Most Beautiful Book in China” and “The Most Beautiful Book in the World”. His “Bug Series” works have gained international fame. Among them, “The Bug Book” has been permanently collected by the British Library and was awarded the silver prize of “The World’s Most Beautiful Book”. After ten years of accumulation, Zhu Yingchun sets out again, joining hands with Pukou District of Nanjing City to create the country’s first ecological and cultural art park centered on “insect art” – Insect Valley.
Relying on the biodiversity resources of Laoshan and the wild resources at the northern foot of Laoshan, the Bug Valley will create an ecological field and science popularization base nourished by art. Here, the experience themed on insect art will break through the traditional display cabinet approach. It will feature the habitat and observation of social insect populations such as ants and bees, and combine functional areas such as natural habitats, insect chirping farms, insect museums and art gallery clusters, and natural magic schools to build a three-dimensional and vivid insect ecosystem and insect world.
After its completion, the Bug Valley will provide cultural tourism services such as science popularization, study Tours, art education, and nature observation for nature and art lovers of all ages, and advocate the concept and actions of biodiversity conservation to the public
The “Bug Valley” project is jointly invested and constructed by Pukou Urban Construction Group and social capital. It is expected to gradually open to the public starting from 2026. At the opening ceremony of the exhibition, Zhu Yingchun shared the planning concept and future vision of the project with the project team. Creative interactive experiences such as “Ant Box” and “Honey Coffee” were also prepared on the spot, making people full of anticipation for the future “Bug Valley”.
Bug Valley is not only an art and culture park but also an artistic practice of encountering nature. Let’s look forward together to meeting bugs and embracing beauty in the embrace of Laoshan
