At the end of last year, Zou Xu happened to learn about the upcoming “One Person Animation” event – the first digital entertainment AI creation camp of the Jianye Geek Dock OPC community. After communicating with the members of the AI community, he and his friends signed up together.
During the 48-hour creative challenge, Zou Xu used AI video generation tools to create a cyber-style Chinese folk short film titled “Jianye New Year – Light Tracks”, which incorporated elements of landmarks such as Nanjing Eye and the Youth Olympic Twin Towers. The ingenious integration of urban culture and digital aesthetics in the film won unanimous approval from the judges. Ultimately, “Jianye New Year – Light Tracks” won the second prize.
After the event, the OPC community operation team of Geek Dock actively connected with resources and helped it obtain free computing power support. With the assistance of the operation team, only twenty days later, Zou Xu registered and established Nanjing Sequoia Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “Sequoia Technology”), and officially settled in the Geek Dock OPC community of Jianye High-tech Zone.
“If it weren’t for this AI creation camp, I might still be engaged in traditional UI design,” Zou Xu admitted. “Winning the second prize in the first Geek Dock competition, I feel that this place is my ‘holy land’.”
“Our company currently has four members. Our main business includes AI video production and AI training, etc. Recently, we have also been exploring AI animated dramas.” Zou Xu told Yezi.
With solid business capabilities and the technical solutions and works accumulated during the creation camp, Sequoia Technology signed a contract for IP design and UI interface design from a well-known local education institution within the same month of its establishment, achieving a “breakthrough success”.
“At that time, the client wanted an IP image. We attempted to create one using AI, and found that the effect was much better than traditional manual design and production. So we decided to propose this AI design and it was immediately approved.”
Shortly after taking on the first order, Xiuqiu Technology also won an advertising video for a well-known domestic pharmaceutical company.
“Generally, it takes about half a month to produce a short video of around one minute using AI, including communication and revisions with the client. Compared with traditional production methods, the efficiency has significantly improved,” Zou Xu explained. “With the explosive popularity of AIGC tools, ‘AI+’ is becoming a new trend in content entrepreneurship. We currently have several partnerships under negotiation, and they are all related to AI.”
Zou Xu’s entrepreneurial story is a vivid illustration of the “attracting talents through competitions and promoting entrepreneurship through application” model of the OPC community in Jianye High-tech Zone.
Since the construction of the park began in 2025 with the establishment of projects such as the Geek Dock and the Mod Law Academy in the OPC community, it has successfully held developer and geek creation challenge competitions such as the Digital Entertainment AI Creation Camp and Hackathon, with a total of over 100 participants; it has attracted and nurtured nearly 30 high-growth digital creative and AI technology enterprises, among which there are many “super individuals” whose revenues have exceeded one million yuan within a short period of time.
These OPC communities are not traditional incubators; rather, they are “growth accelerators” deeply integrated into the regional digital economy industrial chain. Their core objective is to provide full-cycle support for entrepreneurs with technical or content creation capabilities from “0 to 1” to “N” – not only addressing basic issues such as office space and computing costs, but also by connecting with leading enterprise resources, university intelligence, policy tools, and real market demands, enabling “one-person companies” to participate in the industrial grand cycle.
The rapid and stable development of the OPC communities has confirmed the feasibility of the “AI + individual creators + industry platform” model and also demonstrated Jianye District’s forward-looking layout in cultivating new quality productive forces in digital content.
As the core area for the market-oriented reform of data elements in Nanjing, Jianye District has established the country’s first integrated public data platform at the provincial and municipal levels, collecting high-quality data sets from fields such as finance, transportation, and culture and tourism. It has also issued 30 million yuan of “modulus vouchers” to support enterprises in accessing data and computing power.
At the same time, Jianye High-tech Zone has also introduced special policies, providing up to 5 million yuan in research and development subsidies, 2 million yuan in computing power support, and housing security for talents to OPC enterprises, truly achieving “access to elements, visibility of scenarios, and promising growth”.
