Through this signing, we have established a solid cooperative relationship with the Nanjing Municipal Government, which has injected strong confidence into our further investment in this city.

Since 2008, it has become the leader in China’s low-voltage drive market, with its products widely used in numerous industries such as metallurgy, oil and gas, power, HVAC, rubber and plastics. ABB’s frequency converters, servo systems and programmable controllers can help customers achieve precise speed regulation, optimized control and high energy efficiency for motors and other power and electrical equipment, playing a significant role in the field of low-carbon circular economy.
The ABB Drive Products Super Factory project, which has been signed and settled in Nanjing Jiangning Development Zone this time, is an important layout of ABB Group’s firm development in China. It mainly engages in the research and development and production of industrial motion control products, and will build a green, intelligent, lean and efficient super factory integrating R&D innovation, production manufacturing and customer application experience. Committed to introducing global advanced technologies to China and conducting localized innovations, we aim to further enhance the flexibility and reliability of our products.
The total investment of the project is approximately 1.5 billion yuan. Three centers will be built in total, including an intelligent production and manufacturing center, a collaborative R&D and innovation center, and a digital customer experience center. The goal is to respond quickly to the demands of customers in East China and South China. The project will be invested and constructed in two phases. Once fully completed and put into operation, it can achieve an annual output value of no less than 2 billion yuan.

After more than 30 years of development, it has become the leader in China’s low-voltage drive market since 2008.” As the largest market for ABB’s drive products business, China offers abundant opportunities and huge potential for development. We firmly believe that the transmission products business still has broad growth space in China. Nanjing is a significant national base for scientific research and education as well as a comprehensive transportation hub. The investment and construction of a new base in Nanjing by ABB’s Motion Control Division is an important measure to implement the “In China for China” strategy and focus on the long-term development of the Chinese market. This not only demonstrates ABB’s firm confidence in the growth potential of the Chinese market but will also strongly promote the growth of our local business. ABB will further deepen its cooperation with Nanjing and Jiangning, establish a more solid long-term cooperative relationship, jointly create new drivers of development, and contribute to the local economic development together.
ABB Group’s “increased investment” is a vivid practice of foreign-funded enterprises’ continuous investment in Jiangning, and also an important achievement made by Jiangning Development Zone in deepening practical cooperation and expanding high-level opening up to the outside world. As a national-level high-end equipment manufacturing industrial cluster area, Jiangning Development Zone has gathered over 120 high-end intelligent equipment enterprises such as Estun, Hengli Intelligent, Keyuan Wisdom, and Phoenix Contact. It has formed advantageous links in core components, industrial robots, and complete sets of special equipment and other niche fields. The number of national-level intelligent factories, provincial-level advanced intelligent factories and provincial-level industrial Internet benchmark factories ranks among the top in Jiangsu Province and first in Nanjing.
