The 2025 Nanjing Jiangbei New Area International Investment and Cooperation Promotion Conference was held

On October 28th, the 2025 Nanjing Jiangbei New Area International Investment and Cooperation Promotion Conference was held. On the 27th, Zhou Hongbo, the Secretary of the Municipal Committee, met with Shi Mingde, the president of the China-Germany Friendship Association, and some of the attending guests. Li Baiping, the deputy secretary of the municipal committee, attended the meeting and delivered a speech.

This investment promotion conference, themed “Open Cooperation for a Bright Future”, invited nearly 500 domestic and foreign guests including representatives from Fortune 500 companies and multinational corporations. Through the promotion of the business environment and the release of the investment promotion system, it comprehensively showcased the open vitality, cooperation sincerity and future potential of Jiangbei New Area.

Zhou Hongbo introduced the economic development situation of Nanjing when meeting with domestic and foreign guests. He said that currently, Nanjing is presenting a favorable situation with vigorous industrial vitality, numerous open opportunities and an excellent business environment, and its development resilience is continuously strengthening. At the crucial stage of concluding the 14th Five-Year Plan and planning the 15th Five-Year Plan, Nanjing is thoroughly implementing the arrangements of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, actively integrating into the country’s overall opening-up layout, striving to create new advantages in opening up, building a two-way opening-up hub, and expanding the space for two-way investment and cooperation. Jiangbei New Area enjoys the superimposed advantages of multiple national strategies and is also an important growth pole supporting the development of the entire city. We hope that all the guests will visit Jiangbei, get to know Nanjing, experience the ancient capital charm, innovative drive, economic vitality and development potential of the city, jointly build a good innovation and industrial ecosystem, and share new development opportunities together.

Li Baiping delivered a speech, stating that Nanjing will unswervingly promote high-quality development, expand high-level opening up to the outside world, continuously improve government services and industrial support, optimize the market environment, and join hands with all sectors to explore new fertile ground for obstetric integration, build a new hub for two-way opening up, and cultivate a new blue ocean for industrial growth. Shi Mingde delivered a speech, stating that local cooperation has always been an important part of Sino-German cooperation. Germany’s core advantages in fields such as chemicals and machinery are highly consistent with the modern industrial system of Nanjing Jiangbei New Area. He looks forward to German capital and enterprises working together with Jiangbei New Area to create more new highlights and platforms for future-oriented cooperation. Carlos Mendieta, Consul General of the Dominican Republic in Shanghai, delivered a speech.

At the meeting, the main person in charge of Jiangbei New Area made a presentation on development opportunities. Ten international investment cooperation projects were signed. Nine units including the German Federal Association of Small and Medium Enterprises became “International partners for dual recruitment and Introduction” of Jiangbei New Area. Nine “International Investment Promotion Ambassadors” from enterprises and associations such as CITIC Group and the Canadian Chinese Chamber of Commerce Alliance were presented with appointment letters. Representatives of internationally renowned enterprises made exchange speeches. After the meeting, an event called “Multinational Companies’ Jiangbei Tour” was also organized.

Gong Haibin, executive deputy director of the Provincial Committee’s Financial Services Office, Tang Libin, director of the Jiangsu Securities Regulatory Bureau, and municipal leaders Lu Weidong and Xu Feng, among others, attended the relevant activities.
