From July 20th to 22nd, the 16th China Pharmaceutical Strategy Conference and the Inaugural Conference of China Biomedical Industry-Education Integration Community, jointly sponsored by China Pharmaceutical University and China Pharmaceutical Industry Information Center, were held in Nanjing. Han Liming, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Sun Xianze, Chairman of the Chinese Pharmaceutical Association, Jin Nengming, Secretary of the Party Committee of China Pharmaceutical University, Hao Haiping, President of China Pharmaceutical University, and Zhang Lihe, Wang Guangji, Wang Junzhi, academicians of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and the Chinese Academy of Sciences attended the opening ceremony.
The China Pharmaceutical Strategy Conference is characterized by creating a new integrated ecology of “government, industry, academia, research and medical funds” in the health industry, and is the most influential conference in the industry. China Biomedical Industry-Education Integration Community is a scientific research institution initiated and established by China Pharmaceutical University under the guidance and support of relevant national ministries and commissions, and jointly with national pharmaceutical head universities, scientific research institutes, research hospitals, national laboratories and innovative enterprises, aiming to further promote the integration of industry and education, science and education, deepen the integration of colleges and universities, industry and urban development, strive to achieve more original breakthroughs, and develop and produce more Chinese medicines suitable for the life genes and physical characteristics of Chinese.
In his speech, Han Liming said that in recent years, Nanjing has vigorously promoted the development of the biomedical industry from “following and running” to “innovation and breakthrough”, from “multi-point layout” to “agglomeration development”, from “wild goose array cultivation” to “chain master driven” evolution, from “one-way support” to “system ecology”, and has become one of the most dynamic and advantageous cities in the development of biomedicine in China. The next step will be to thoroughly study and implement the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China, fully integrate science, education, production and talent resources, actively build a coherent system for the transformation of scientific and technological achievements, cultivate an open, inclusive and dynamic innovation environment, create a financial system that supports the transformation of basic scientific research and applied technology, support and build a number of universities and scientific research institutions that carry out basic research, and support a number of enterprises or institutions that transform basic scientific research achievements, so as to create a highland for the development of the biomedical industry for a long time.
Sun Xianze said that the biomedical industry is a knowledge-intensive and capital-intensive high-tech industry, which requires the collaborative research of universities, enterprises, scientific research institutes, societies and associations. It is expected that all parties will rely on the community construction to promote the high-level creation and efficient transformation of university achievements, strengthen the basic research of new drug creation, and continuously consolidate the foundation for the development of innovative drugs in China.
Jin Nengming said that China Pharmaceutical University looks forward to working with all walks of life to build an all-round, three-dimensional, open and collaborative innovative drug ecosystem, and strive to become the source of new productivity in the field of biomedicine by cultivating top-notch innovative talents in pharmacy, improving the ability of new drug creation, and promoting the transformation of scientific and technological achievements.
Wei Shuyuan, Chairman of China National Research Institute of Pharmaceutical Industry Co., Ltd., Deng Lihong, Deputy Director of the Development Planning Department of the Ministry of Education, and Wang Xiaoyang, Deputy Director of the Consumer Goods Industry Department of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, delivered speeches successively. Nanjing Institute of Biomedical Innovation and Transformation was inaugurated, and the high-end biomedical think tank was launched. China Pharmaceutical University signed a school-enterprise cooperation project with Shanghai Pharmaceutical, Simcere Pharmaceutical, Renfu Pharmaceutical, and Springhouse Biotechnology, and Jiangning High-tech Zone made an industrial promotion.
