Super Power Bank is about to be launched!

Green electricity surges, and energy storage takes the lead. Following the successful operation of the first-phase energy storage power station, Lishui is about to welcome another “super power regulator” – the 50-megawatt / 100-megawatt-hour second-phase centralized shared energy storage power station of Datang Nanjing Thermal Power Co., LTD. It has now entered the grid connection sprint stage and is expected to be officially “online” by the end of this month.

Entering the project construction site, 10 sets of energy storage units are neatly arranged, a large hoisting machine moves slowly, and workers shuttle among the white prefabricated cabins, laying cables, debugging systems… A scene of vigorous construction is unfolding. This 6.7-mu “super power warehouse” is ready to go, and all links are advancing in an orderly manner.

There are 45 professional technicians working in coordination on site. Everyone is working together to ensure that the project is completed and debugged on time while guaranteeing safety and quality. Xu Dong, the Party Secretary and Chairman of the company, introduced that it is now the critical period for the system’s live debugging, and every parameter must be precise to the millisecond level.

The second-phase project adopts lithium iron phosphate batteries. By optimizing the operation mode of energy storage, it effectively ensures the efficient consumption of new energy and alleviates the peak shaving pressure on the power grid. Each group of energy storage units consists of two battery prefabricated cabins and one PCS booster cabin, resembling a meticulously constructed “giant power bank” formation. The cable trays between the compartments are laid neatly, the fireproof sealing is meticulous and in place, and the labels of all kinds of pipelines are clear.

After the project is put into operation, it is expected to increase the consumption of clean energy by approximately 32 million kilowatt-hours annually, which is equivalent to reducing the consumption of standard coal by about 16,000 tons and cutting carbon dioxide emissions by about 50,000 tons.

Standing at the site of the second phase project, the energy storage power station that has been put into operation in the first phase stands quietly on one side. The two “twin power stations” complement each other and will form a powerful energy storage matrix.

Compared with the first phase of the project, the second phase has achieved system optimization in multiple aspects: through design optimization, the equipment procurement and project cost have been reduced by approximately 30 million yuan. Technically, cells with higher energy density are adopted, which not only enhances the overall performance of the system but also optimizes the construction land from 11.92 mu to 6.79 mu, achieving intensive and efficient land use.

The coordinated operation of the two phases of the project will effectively relieve the pressure on the local power grid during peak electricity consumption periods and consume the surplus power during off-peak hours. Xu Dong introduced that as the grid connection enters the final countdown, this “super power bank” that embodies technological innovation and green development will significantly enhance the regulation capacity and operational stability of the power grid in Lishui and even the entire Nanjing, ensuring reliable power supply for enterprises and residents, and adding green momentum and stable support to the Nanjing power grid.
