On December 9, Vice Governor Fang Wei met with Michael Ho, President of the American Chamber of Commerce in China, and his delegation in Nanjing.
Fang Wei welcomed the visit of Michael Ho and his delegation. He said that Jiangsu is a major economic and open province in China, with obvious location advantages, a strong industrial foundation and a high level of openness. Over the years, Jiangsu and the United States have had very close economic and trade cooperation, cultural exchanges and people-to-people exchanges. Currently, the United States is Jiangsu’s largest single trading partner, the sixth largest source of foreign investment and the second largest overseas investment destination. It is hoped that the American Chamber of Commerce in China will better play the role of a bridge and link, promote exchanges and interactions between enterprises and institutions on both sides, promote the expansion of investment and trade between Jiangsu and the United States, deepen cooperation in the industrial chain, supply chain and innovation chain, and continue to help promote Jiangsu and further enhance Jiangsu’s international influence. We will strengthen regular government-enterprise communication, continue to create a superior business environment, and provide high-quality service guarantees for the development of foreign-funded enterprises in Jiangsu.
Michael Ho thanked Jiangsu for its long-term concern and support for the development of American-funded enterprises in Jiangsu. He said that the American Chamber of Commerce in China will actively promote economic and trade exchanges between the two sides, deepen cooperation in medicine, health, scientific and technological innovation, and achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
