 Qingxiwei Remediation Project 

Create a flood control project shield

  ”Dong, dong, dong”, at the Qingxiwei renovation project construction site, a huge pile driver rhythmically hit the ground; the transport vehicles of steel bars and concrete shuttled back and forth; the excavator waved the huge robotic arms and piled up the dirt with a shovel…

Qingxiwei is located on the right bank of the lower reaches of Shahekou at the intersection of Tianshengqiao River and a dry river. It is surrounded by a dry river and Qingxi River. The total water area is about 2.14 square kilometers. Qingxiwei is an important part of the Qinhuai River Basin flood control engineering system and plays an important role in ensuring flood control safety in the basin and regional areas and defending floods beyond the standard. 
In December last year, the Qingxiwei renovation project with a total investment of nearly 250 million yuan was officially started . Through the construction and reinforcement of embankments, the construction of Qingxiwei Gate Station, Qingxi River Gate Station, and connecting culverts, the basin flood control, flood storage and regional drainage capacity will be further improved.

 ”The project has completed the preliminary work such as some embankment reinforcement and road construction. It is planned to complete the construction of the main underwater project of Qingxiwei Gate Station and Qingxiwei before the flood season in May this year.” Gong Ciyuan, the on-site head of the district’s key water conservancy engineering construction office, introduced that the entire project is expected to be fully completed by the end of December 2026 , and will provide strong guarantees for the flood control, flood storage and regional drainage capacity in our district.

 Zhongshan Reservoir Disinfection Project 

Ensure completion before flood season  At the construction site of Zhongshan Reservoir, workers are carrying out road construction and high-pressure rotary spray pile driving operations. This reservoir, which was safely identified as a Class II dam, is undergoing a “big test” for the transformation of insurance insurance.

Zhang Fahua, director of Zhongshan Reservoir Management Office, introduced that as an important water conservancy facility in our district, Zhongshan Reservoir’s safety is crucial. Therefore, in response to the safety identification results of Class II dams and the safety hazards, this insurance removal project was quickly launched. The project will demolish the culvert of the secondary dam, perform high-pressure rotary spray pile anti-seepage treatment on the dam shoulder body on the south side, and transform the dam backwater slope drainage ditches, etc.

At present, the Zhongshan Reservoir Disinsurance Project has completed the demolition and pile driving of some pavements, and inspections are underway before pavement restoration. The entire project includes demolition and construction of secondary dam culverts, anti-seepage treatment of dam bodies, and transformation of drainage ditches. It is expected to be completed before the flood season arrives on May 1 .

 Spring pond hazard removal and reinforcement project 

Improve reservoir level  Quanshuitang Reservoir located in Honglan Street is also undergoing a “butterfly transformation” of removing hazards and strengthening – this is a small reservoir built in 1956. It is currently undergoing preliminary work such as cleaning the foundation and meter cleaning and demolition of dam top roads, and preparing for the subsequent main project construction.

According to the project leader, the Quanshuitang Reservoir removal and reinforcement and renovation project is designed according to the flood control standards once in 20 years, and reinforced by the calibration standards once in 200 years. The project includes multiple links such as reservoir area clearance, dam reinforcement, anti-seepage treatment, culvert maintenance, etc., which will further improve the flood control and irrigation capacity of the reservoir. At present, the entire project is progressing smoothly. 
It is expected that the main project will be completed before the flood season and will be fully completed by the end of the year .

 This year, the construction of winter and spring water conservancy projects in our district involves six major aspects, including 23 key ponds and dams to remove hazards and reinforcement, 2 reservoir dredging and safety monitoring, 6 flood prevention and control projects, 3 basic construction projects, 3 rural water conservancy projects and 7 reservoir immigration projects, with a total of 44 projects with a total investment of more than 550 million yuan .

  At present, all projects are resuming work in an orderly manner as planned or promoting preliminary work. The district water affairs department will make every effort to promote project construction, strengthen project quality management, and ensure that the construction goals are completed by the end of the year. At the same time, accelerate the preliminary work of the project, promote plan design and project approval, and lay a solid foundation for annual water conservancy construction.
