On August 13, Polestar officially opened its headquarters in Nanjing, marking the integration of Polestar into Nanjing’s connected technology ecosystem.
In January this year, Nanjing’s “Breakthrough Year for Investment Promotion” ushered in a good start, and the Polestar Technology China headquarters project was signed and settled in Nanjing. The strategic joint venture between Polestar and Meizu Group focuses on Nanjing, carrying the expectations and ambitions of a city to refresh its industrial DNA and build a flagship brand.

Promote the development of new energy
Headquartered in Purple Mountain Science and Technology City, Jiangning Development Zone, Polestar has a total area of 8,322.45 square meters and integrates R&D center, operation center, procurement center, sales center and delivery center.
Polestar will gather R&D, sales, operations and other relevant personnel to build Polestar Polestar OS and intelligent supporting products, break down the boundaries of automotive and related intelligent supporting products, develop the product matrix of Polestar’s high-end brand, and promote the manufacturing and sales of Polestar in the Chinese market.
The story behind the project
In 2017, Polestar Cars, a joint venture between Volvo Cars and Geely Holdings, was established in Gothenburg, Sweden. Subsequently, Polestar Motors and Meizu Group established a strategic joint venture, Polestar Technology, to “slot” the intelligent network league in advance.
The investment opportunities brought by such an enterprise are slowly “cultivated” in Nanjing. As early as three years ago, through the introduction of enterprises in the park, the investment promotion team of Jiangning Development Zone visited Geely Group. Since then, the two sides have interacted frequently.
The person in charge of the sixth investment promotion department of Jiangning Development Zone clearly remembers that during an offline meeting between the two sides during the negotiation of the cooperation agreement, 15 or 6 people sat in a conference room and discussed from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. During the eight hours that followed, no one walked out of the conference room except to go to the bathroom.
To Polestar’s surprise, their concept was highly recognized by the Nanjing investment promotion department. “We believe that a major trend in the development of new energy vehicles is to do interconnection and ecology, and to build a car is to create an intelligent terminal device that can be moved.” Chen Siying, chief operating officer of Polestar Technology, said that the two sides had a very happy meeting, from the first negotiation between the two parties in October last year to the signing of the agreement in early January this year, which took only two months.
This year’s government work report of the National People’s Congress and the National People’s Congress clearly stated that it is necessary to consolidate and expand the leading advantages of intelligent networked new energy vehicles and other industries, and boost bulk consumption such as intelligent networked new energy vehicles and electronic products. “The next main battlefield for the development of the domestic new energy vehicle industry is intelligence and networking, and we don’t want to miss the opportunities brought by Polestar Technology.” The relevant person in charge of Jiangning Development Zone said.
