Ninghuai Intercity Railway: Latest Updates!

Good news!

The construction of the Ninghuai Intercity Railway has achieved the latest progress.
The continuous beam spanning the Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway for the 6th section of the Ninghuai Intercity Railway has been successfully closed.

Recently, the 128-meter six-lane continuous beam spanning the Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway at the 6th project section of the Ninghuai Intercity Railway was successfully closed, laying a solid foundation for the subsequent beam-laying and bridge deck system construction.

Continuous Girder Successfully Joined at Pukou Beam Yard, Crossing Over G2503 Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway
Recently, the continuous girder located in the offline section of the Pukou Beam Yard on the Ning-Huai Intercity Railway was successfully joined. This bridge crosses over the G2503 Shanghai-Shaanxi Expressway and is one of the most technically challenging bridge projects along the entire line. During construction, the project team employed the cantilever casting method with form travelers, combined with an intelligent monitoring system to track the girder’s alignment and stress data in real time. This ensured millimeter-level precision in construction, guaranteeing both quality and safety.

Ning-Huai Intercity Railway Huaian Beam Yard Completes All Box Girder Precasting Tasks
Meanwhile, the Huaian Beam Yard of Lot 1 (ahead of the station) on the Ning-Huai Intercity Railway, constructed by China Railway 19th Bureau Group, has successfully completed all box girder precasting tasks. This achievement lays a solid foundation for the subsequent girder erection and installation work.

The Huaian Beam Yard, covering a total area of 198 mu, is responsible for precasting 1075 simply-supported beams within the section, making it the largest precast beam yard along the entire Ning-Huai Intercity Railway. The yard is equipped with two sets of 180-type mixing units, 10 beam casting beds, and 52 beam storage beds, with a maximum storage capacity of 104 beams.

To ensure the successful completion of the box girder precasting tasks, the project team introduced various intelligent equipment, including automated steel processing machinery, intelligent tensioning and grouting integrated trolleys, and an automatic curing sprinkler system. By leveraging an intelligent command center and an information management platform, key processes such as raw material intake, steel processing, and formwork installation are monitored in real time. This has comprehensively improved the physical quality of the precast box girders and enabled full-lifecycle digital-intelligent management of the beam yard.

As a backbone line of the intercity railway network in Jiangsu Province’s Yangtze River urban agglomeration and an important component of the Yangtze River Delta intercity rail transit network, the newly constructed Ning-Huai Intercity Railway spans 179 kilometers with a design speed of 350 km/h. Upon completion, the railway will enable a direct one-hour journey between Nanjing and Huaian. It holds significant implications for improving the regional intercity rail transit network, enhancing railway transport capacity, promoting coordinated economic development along the Jiangsu-Anhui corridor, and accelerating the establishment of a modern integrated transport system in the province.
