On December 2, Nanjing held an expert review meeting for the “Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration” project, inviting 7 industry experts to review Nanjing’s “Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration” three-year construction plan, Nanjing’s municipal intelligent connected cloud control platform preliminary design plan, and the “Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration” five-picture architecture concept.
The meeting invited Li Keqiang, an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering, Ran Bin, secretary-general of the Vehicle-Road Collaborative Innovation Consortium, Chen Shanzhi, deputy general manager and chief engineer of China Information and Communications Technology Group, Tan Minqiang, general manager of China Automotive Innovation, Du Xiaoping, chief technical expert of “Vehicle-Road-Cloud Integration” of the National Intelligent Connected Vehicle Innovation Center, Qi Wangdong, director of the Research Department of Zijinshan Laboratory, and Ma Chunye, chief professor of Southeast University, as review experts. Relevant responsible persons from the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology, Municipal Bureau of Planning and Resources, Municipal Construction Committee, Municipal Transportation Bureau, Municipal Public Security Bureau Traffic Management Bureau, Municipal Transportation Group, and representatives of participating units such as the Information and Communication Academy and Sujiaoke attended the meeting.

Expert review opinions
After discussion, the expert group agreed that Nanjing’s “vehicle-road-cloud integration” construction three-year plan and Nanjing’s municipal-level intelligent network cloud control platform preliminary design plan passed the review, and believed that Nanjing’s “vehicle-road-cloud integration” construction will help improve urban traffic efficiency , provide citizens with more convenient and intelligent travel services, promote the development of the intelligent networked vehicle industry, and promote the aggregation and coordinated development of upstream and downstream enterprises in the industrial chain. At the same time, the expert group also put forward optimization suggestions for planning and platform construction, and required them to be improved according to the opinions of the expert group. This review is not only a comprehensive test of Nanjing’s intelligent networked “vehicle-road-cloud integration” construction, but also an important guide for future development.

Since 2018
The Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and the Municipal Government have made the construction of intelligent network connection a major strategic priority and have attached great importance to and invested in it. After Nanjing was selected as a national “double intelligence” pilot city in 2021, Nanjing has continued to deploy intelligent construction and achieved solid results in the four pilot areas.

Nanjing has been successfully selected as one of the first pilot cities for the application of “vehicle-road-cloud integration” for intelligent connected vehicles.

The Nanjing Municipal Government officially released the “Nanjing Intelligent Connected Vehicle Industry High-Quality Development Action Plan (2024-2026)”, requiring the Municipal Transportation Group to take the lead in formulating the city’s intelligent road construction plan and capital investment plan, and be responsible for the construction, operation and management of the municipal intelligent connected vehicle cloud control platform.
