Nanjing North Railway Station, Spring Festival Resumption of Work

On March 3rd, the 15th day of the first lunar month, at the Nanjing North Railway Station, the tower cranes were in operation and the machinery was humming. All the work was gradually resuming in an orderly manner.
At present, over a thousand construction workers have returned to work and resumed their duties. Another approximately 4,000 people will return to work in the coming days. The project construction will be fully accelerated.
It is known that on January 30th, the construction below the zero level of Nanjing North Railway Station was completed. The project construction has now fully transitioned to the construction of the ground main structure. “Before May, we will fully focus on the construction of the supporting track layer. We plan to complete the full topping out of the main structure by the end of June,” said Zhang Hongxing, the executive manager of the Nanjing North Railway Station 2nd Project of China Railway Construction Group.

The station yard of Nanjing Beigang Station has a scale of 16 platforms and 30 tracks. It is equipped with three carparks: high-speed railway park, intercity railway park and ordinary-speed railway park. It is planned to introduce multiple lines such as the Huizhou-Renjiang High-Speed Railway, Nanjing-Huai Railway, Nanjing-Baotan Railway, Beijing-Shanghai Railway and Nanjing-Qi Railway. Through the Nanjing Yangtze River Bridge and Shangyuanmen Cross-Channel Passage, it will achieve full-directional connection with Nanjing Station and Nanjing South Station, making it the only comprehensive railway passenger station in Nanjing integrating high-speed railway, intercity railway and ordinary-speed railway.
After the completion of Nanjing Beigang Station, it will open up the “main artery” of the along-Jianghuai High-Speed Railway and significantly enhance the radiation capacity of the eastern region towards the central cities in the middle-west and the Yangtze River Delta region. The key “piece” of Nanjing’s “M”-shaped high-speed railway network will also be completed, thereby forming a new pattern of interaction with Nanjing South Station and Nanjing Station.
