11,600 green power certificates have witnessed the consumption of 11.6 million kilowatt-hours of green electricity from June last year to the present.
Behind this set of figures lies a savings of 3,480 tons of coal, equivalent to planting 390,000 mature trees for the Earth.
All of this is the result of the “photovoltaic + energy storage + DC power supply” three-in-one clean energy system jointly created by Nanjing Gree and State Grid Jiangning Power Supply Company, making “innovation” and “greenness” the dual engines of development.

Entering the Gree factory area in Nanjing, the green “genes” are everywhere.
The most eye-catching feature is the continuous array of photovoltaic panels on the factory roof – they are like a group of neatly lined “light chasers”, capable of generating 40,000 to 50,000 kilowatt-hours of clean electricity every day, which is directly injected into the production lines in the workshop. The electricity generated by these photovoltaic panels is not only used by enterprises, but the surplus electricity can also be fed into the municipal power grid. An engineer from Nanjing Gree Energy introduced. Not far away, the three prefabricated battery storage compartments are more like the “power regulators” of the factory. With a single storage capacity of 4,800 kilowatt-hours, they “store water” during off-peak hours and “release floodwaters” during peak hours, easily achieving “peak shaving and valley filling”.

If photovoltaic panels and energy storage cabins are the “limbs” of a green factory, then the “dual-carbon smart brain” platform in the central control room is the “nerve center” that makes strategic plans. On the screen, the real-time refreshed emission reduction data, photovoltaic power generation, and energy storage charge and discharge curves are like the “health monitoring form” of a factory, clearly showing the origin and destination of every kilowatt-hour of electricity.

It is reported that over 4,000 energy consumption monitoring points on this platform are like “nerve endings” scattered throughout the factory, transmitting real-time data on water, electricity, gas, etc. back to the platform. After intelligent analysis, the operating parameters of the equipment are automatically adjusted. It is estimated that this system can reduce energy consumption by more than 15% annually.

From “Green Factory” to “Energy Ecology

A staff member from the Operation and Distribution Management Department of State Grid Jiangning Power Supply Company introduced: “We have tailored a solution based on the slope and orientation of the roof of the Nanjing Gree factory area, proposing an integrated ‘photovoltaic + energy storage’ solution. Currently, the 9-megawatt photovoltaic system has significantly increased the proportion of clean energy used by the enterprise, reducing both costs and carbon emissions.” “
This is just the beginning. The second and third phases of photovoltaic and energy storage projects are already in the planning stage. It is reported that in the future, Nanjing Gree’s photovoltaic installed capacity will reach 15 megawatts, the energy storage capacity will reach 23 megawatt-hours, and the average annual power generation can reach 18 million kilowatt-hours. The annual revenue from peak shaving and valley filling through energy storage alone is expected to reach 7.36 million yuan.
