From January 16th to 17th, Jiangbei New District held the 2026 Work Convergence Meeting, thoroughly implementing the spirit of the Fourth Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the economic work conferences of the central and provincial, municipal governments. It also earnestly implemented the spirit of the 14th Plenary Session of the Provincial Committee and the 15th Plenary Session of the Municipal Committee. It comprehensively summarized the work achievements in 2025 and scientifically planned the work ideas and measures for 2026. It further consolidated consensus, strengthened confidence, and promoted the high-quality development of the “15th Five-Year Plan” with a good start and a good beginning.
Party Secretary and Director of Jiangbei New District, and Director of Puqiao District, Lu Weidong presided over the meeting and delivered a speech. Director of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Puqiao District, Jiang Xiaoping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress of Puqiao District, Liu Dangwei, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Jiangbei New District, Zhou Junqiang, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee and Deputy Director of the Management Committee of Jiangbei New District, Yuan Chuangjun, and other attendees attended the meeting.
At the meeting, members of the Party Committee of the New District, members of the Standing Committee of the Puqiu District Committee, main leaders of the People’s Congress Standing Committee and the CPPCC of Puqiu District, main leaders of the New District Court and the New District Procuratorate, the main leaders of the Public Construction Center of the New District and the Yangzi State-owned Assets Group, deputy district governors of Puqiu District Government and directors of various departments of the New District, court and procuratorate of Puqiu District Government, main leaders of various parks, and leaders of relevant units, streets (communities), and affiliated state-owned enterprises exchanged views. Everyone deeply analyzed the new situations, new requirements, and new tasks faced by the development of the New District after the integration. They discussed ideas, plans, and measures regarding various tasks in the first year of implementation. The participants actively exchanged views and spoke freely, laying a solid foundation and making adequate preparations for the upcoming New District Party Committee’s annual work deployment meeting.
Lu Weidong listened carefully to the exchanges and speeches of all participants and made a summary of the meeting, focusing on fully leveraging the integration advantages, further advancing the “Four Major Actions”, concentrating on building an industrial powerhouse and the new main city of Jiangbei, etc.
Lu Weidong pointed out that we should set clear development goals and take practical actions to achieve breakthroughs in the completion of all annual targets. We should closely focus on the annual economic growth target, further break down the indicators to provide support, strengthen the role of assessment and incentives, unite our efforts and strive with determination, and comprehensively promote all work to reach new heights. We should strive to gain the initiative and lay a solid foundation for a smooth start of the “15th Five-Year Plan”.
We should focus on the practical work orientation and fully promote high-quality economic development. We should focus on the cultivation of growth points, firmly establish the concept of efficient investment, fully leverage the guiding role of the industrial fund of the new district’s state-owned enterprises, accelerate the revitalization of idle resources, promote the prosperity of the street economy, and form a working synergy. At the same time, we should closely monitor important nodes such as the Spring Festival and holidays, and earnestly organize activities integrating culture, tourism, sports and commerce to promote consumption, accelerate the signing and implementation of high-quality projects, and start construction, and continuously promote real development.
We must accelerate the construction process and fully promote the development of the new main city to achieve remarkable results. Focus on the intensive development of the city, accelerate the improvement of urban functions and quality in key areas such as the Central Business District, Jiangbei New District Science City, Biomedical Valley, and North Station Hub Economic Zone, and meticulously create good houses, good communities, good neighborhoods, and good urban areas. Comprehensively present the new main city’s construction with a brand-new image.
We must better coordinate development and security, and fully consolidate the foundation of security. Strengthen the systemic perspective and bottom-line thinking, comprehensively tighten the responsibility chain, strictly implement the safety responsibility system, meticulously investigate and resolve conflicts and disputes, and persist in coordinating and promoting security in all fields. Take multiple measures to firmly build the security defense line of the new district.
We must earnestly optimize the work style of cadres, providing a strong organizational guarantee for achieving the annual targets and tasks. Firmly establish the awareness of discipline, optimize the institutional mechanisms, strengthen the construction of various rules and regulations, continuously promote the normalization and long-term effectiveness of work style, with excellent work style enhancing the vitality and spirit of the new district’s cadres, and injecting strong confidence and momentum into the high-quality development of the new district.
