Always focus on the main direction of intelligent manufacturing
In recent years, Nanjing has been committed to strengthening top-level design and policy coordination as its top priority. It was the first in Jiangsu Province to introduce a three-year action plan for the “intelligent transformation, digital transition and network connection” of the manufacturing industry, and has been promoting the national pilot program for the integrated application of “5G+ industrial Internet” and the digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises to a high standard. By deeply implementing the five major actions of “gradient cultivation of smart factories, digital transformation of small and medium-sized enterprises, upgrading of digital infrastructure, empowerment of digital transformation applications, and enhancement of service support capabilities”, it provides strong impetus for the high-quality development of the city’s manufacturing industry.
At present, the level of integration of informatization and industrialization in Nanjing has reached 74.3, which is 10.7 and 5.1 percentage points higher than the national and Jiangsu provincial averages respectively. The rates of numerical control in key processes, digital popularization in operation and management, and digital popularization of R&D and design tools in key enterprises across the city have reached 74.5%, 92%, and 92.6% respectively, all ranking among the top in Jiangsu Province.
Enhance efficiency with “intelligence”
Comprehensively enhance the industrial level of intelligent manufacturing
In terms of industrial foundation, Nanjing City has focused on the driving force of complete machines and the coordination of software and hardware. In recent years, it has attracted and cultivated a number of outstanding software and hardware enterprises in the field of intelligent manufacturing, such as Estun, Inovance Technology, Process Equipment, Langkun Wisdom, and Keyuan Wisdom, providing strong support for the development of intelligent manufacturing in the whole city.
In the first half of this year, Estun’s shipment volume ranked first in China’s robot market. The high-end equipment R&D and production base of Huichuan Technology has been officially put into operation, supporting the growth rate of the city’s core robot industry to reach 20%. The scale of industrial software accounts for over 40% of the province’s total, covering core manufacturing links such as R&D and design, and has been widely applied in fields like electronic information, steel and petrochemicals. In addition, Nanjing has specially established an industrial breakthrough promotion office focusing on key industries such as software and information services (artificial intelligence) and robots, striving to achieve a scale of over one trillion yuan in the software and information service industry, over 500 billion yuan in the smart grid industry, and over 300 billion yuan in the intelligent manufacturing equipment industry throughout the year.
In terms of industrial empowerment, Nanjing has been making efforts to promote the deep integration of digital technology and manufacturing, and has cultivated a number of typical benchmark enterprises of intelligent manufacturing with local characteristics and well-known in the industry. Currently, the city has 12 national-level intelligent factories (including 5 national-level outstanding intelligent factories) and 3 national-level digital leading enterprises. Zte’s Nanjing Binjiang factory has built the country’s first five-star 5G factory. This year, the city is expected to continue to add a batch of national outstanding intelligent factories and is simultaneously striving to become one of the first batch of national leading intelligent factories, which will help achieve a greater leap in the overall level of Nanjing’s manufacturing industry.
Build the foundation with “wisdom”
Continue to strengthen the foundation of the intelligent manufacturing platform
Nanjing is making efforts to build a high-speed, ubiquitous, intelligent and agile digital infrastructure platform system.
In terms of deep network coverage, the city has cumulatively built 48,000 5G base stations, with a total of 50 per 10,000 people. The bandwidth of the national-level Internet backbone direct connection point has been expanded to 4600G, ranking third in the country.
In terms of computing power resource supply, the city has cumulatively built 6 intelligent computing centers, with an intelligent computing scale exceeding 21,000 gigabits, effectively empowering the collaborative optimization of the artificial intelligence industry chain, supply chain, and innovation chain.
In terms of breakthroughs in cutting-edge technologies, Zijinshan Laboratory has initiated the construction of the industry’s first 6G comprehensive laboratory. The Future Network Test Facility (CENI) has been officially completed, undertaking the demonstration tasks of the national “East Data West Computing” project. It can provide low-latency, low-jitter, high-throughput and highly reliable network transmission services for the manufacturing industry.
At present, Nanjing is focusing on the major national demands for intelligent manufacturing, deeply integrating into the national “Artificial Intelligence +” development strategy, fully supporting the construction of high-level innovation platforms such as the Institute of Industrial Artificial Intelligence of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, effectively promoting technological research and development breakthroughs and the transfer and transformation of achievements in the field of intelligent manufacturing, and actively seizing the commanding heights of science and technology in the field of intelligent manufacturing.
The relevant departments stated that Nanjing will strengthen organizational guarantees, optimize conference services, and convey the concept of “intelligent manufacturing”, fully demonstrating Nanjing’s vivid practice in promoting the construction of a strong industrial city, actively cultivating new quality productive forces, and driving high-quality development.
