It is reported that the project will be developed into a regional center of JD Group, undertaking centralized office and R&D functions. In the future, this place will gather the R&D forces of JD.com in multiple business segments such as retail, technology, finance, health, and home services, with a focus on introducing R&D talents in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and driverless technology.
At the 2025 Nanjing Hexi Central Science and Technology Innovation Zone Ecological Construction Promotion Conference held earlier, Wei Xiaohui, Vice President of Public Business of JD Group, expounded on the project positioning and development vision with the following sentence: This is by no means a simple expansion of office space, but a “strategic bridgehead” for JD to be based in Nanjing, radiate to East China and connect with the world. In the future, it will become the regional headquarters of JD.com in the Yangtze River Delta and will be developed into an “innovation brain” with a scale of over 10,000 people.
We will introduce a core business R&D team to promote the transformation and application of cutting-edge technologies such as artificial intelligence, robotics, intelligent driving, and cloud computing here, and achieve fruitful results. Relying on the talent advantage of Nanjing’s concentration of universities, we will attract tens of thousands of high-end scientific and technological talents to pursue their innovative dreams. We are more willing to open the door of cooperation, drive the aggregation of upstream and downstream ecological partners in the industrial chain, build a “community” for technological breakthroughs and the transformation of achievements, and promote the upgrading of innovation vitality from “single-point breakthroughs” to “cluster explosions”. After its completion, it will further enhance the industrial level and regional influence of the Hexi Central Science and Technology Innovation Zone.
