On November 11th, JD Group successfully acquired the NO. Ning 2025Y05 plot in Jianye District, marking the official establishment of JD Group’s Nanjing R&D Center in Jianye High-tech Zone
This highly efficient achievement has injected strong new impetus into Jianye District’s efforts to build a digital economy innovation highland in the eastern region, marking another milestone in the regional industrial upgrading
It is understood that the Nanjing R&D center of JD Group is located in the core area of Jianye High-tech Zone, adjacent to the headquarters of leading enterprises such as Alibaba and Xiaomi. It enjoys a superior geographical location and a strong industrial atmosphere. The project covers an area of approximately 40.6 mu and is positioned as the regional headquarters of JD Group. It will simultaneously undertake the dual functions of headquarters office and R&D center.
In the future, the center will focus on gathering R&D talents in cutting-edge fields such as artificial intelligence, robotics, and driverless technology, comprehensively layout diversified business sectors including retail, technology, finance, and health, and actively introduce enterprises from the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to form a favorable pattern of coordinated industrial development.
As the largest high-tech industrial park in the main urban area of Nanjing, Jianye High-tech Zone has always adhered to a forward-looking layout, building a closed loop of the digital economy ecosystem with a “chain thinking” approach. Relying on its efficient “Jianye speed” and high-quality business services, it continuously attracts leading enterprises to gather.
At present, the park has formed a “headquarters forest” centered around JD.com, Alibaba, Xiaomi, Huawei and others, gathering over 1,800 digital economy enterprises. It has 12 listed companies, 4 companies listed on the New Third Board, and 53 headquarters enterprises recognized by the municipal government. In multiple billion-yuan-level sectors such as digital finance, smart transportation and logistics, and digital entertainment, a number of industry hidden champions like Linghao and Migu Interactive Entertainment have been cultivated. In the list of the top 500 provincial-level development zones in China for high-quality development research released in early 2025, Jianye High-tech Zone ranked first in Nanjing and 36th nationwide, continuously leading in the concentration of digital economy innovation and industrial competitiveness.
A relevant official from the Investment Promotion Bureau of Jianye District stated, “We not only aim to build nests to attract phoenix-like talents but also to secure them and retain them. It all comes down to service and ecosystem.” ” The establishment of JD Group’s Nanjing R&D Center is another significant achievement in Jianye District’s efforts to optimize the business environment and strengthen industrial agglomeration. It will further consolidate the foundation of the regional digital economy industry and promote the coordinated upgrading of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain.
