At 7:30 in the morning, at the site of the new construction project of the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention located beside the Yanshan Avenue, the machinery was roaring and tower cranes were standing in rows. Nearly 400 construction workers were working in various locations, presenting a lively and bustling scene.

This project is located near Shanshan Avenue and Zhuping Street in Dingshan Subdistrict. The total construction area is 144,600 square meters. There are 13 buildings in total, distributed in two areas – the north and the south.
“Construction of this project began last July. The overall foundation slab pouring has been completed, and the main structures of some buildings have already risen above ground level,” said Ouyang Kang, the project safety supervisor.

As a provincial-level major project, during the construction process of this project, it features intelligent management and green manufacturing, aiming to create high-quality and low-energy consumption modern public health buildings.

“Regarding intelligent construction, the project adopts artificial intelligence for production scheduling. It can complete the processing of steel bars, such as fixed-length saw-cutting, threading, and bending, all at once. In the future, a smart material transportation system will also be introduced to further enhance the intelligence level of the construction process,” said Ouyang Kang.
The relocation project of the Jiangsu Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention is an important measure to improve the provincial public health emergency management system. Once completed, it will introduce advanced research equipment, enhance detection capabilities, continuously attract high-level talents, and improve the provincial public health research and emergency response levels, thus safeguarding people’s health.
