In the golden autumn season, government and enterprises gather together. On September 15th, the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the People’s Government of Gaochun District jointly held a visit event for key food enterprises in Nanjing to Gaochun. More than 30 key food enterprise leaders from the city gathered in Gaochun. With “food as the bond and the industrial chain as the support”, they explored new opportunities and paths for the high-quality development of the food industry through on-site investigations and interactive exchanges.
In the afternoon, representatives of various entrepreneurs visited the Nanjing Urban Food Industrial Park. They successively entered the industrial plots, the sewage pretreatment station and the food standard factory buildings to inspect the infrastructure construction of the park on the spot. Enterprise representatives frequently stopped by, asked detailed questions, and recorded the parameters and real scenes of the park with their mobile phones. They showed a strong interest in Gaochun’s industrial foundation and development potential. Subsequently, everyone entered the Gaochun Urban Planning Exhibition Hall, comprehensively understanding the development heritage and potential of Gaochun from its ecological endowment, historical context to transportation layout and industrial planning.
At the promotion symposium
Deputy District Head Kong Heyun, on behalf of the Gaochun District Government, expressed sincere gratitude to the Municipal Bureau of Industry and Information Technology and the Food Industry Association for their concern and support for the industrial development of Gaochun District, especially the improvement of the food industry. He also hoped that this event would serve as an opportunity to have in-depth exchanges with all entrepreneurs, enhance consensus, reach more practical cooperation, and jointly promote the construction of the Nanjing Urban Food Industrial Park to a new level.
The development zone highlighted the investment environment of Nanjing Urban Food Industrial Park. During the enterprise interaction and communication session, representatives from many enterprises such as Weigang Dairy, Xizhilang, Swire Coca-Cola, and Guanshengyuan mentioned that the ecological environment, business services, and industrial clusters in Gaochun were impressive, which made them see the possibility of cooperation. Many enterprise representatives also put forward suggestions on the transformation of local resources, the creation of consumption scenarios, and talent and technical support. The on-site interaction was very lively.
As the convergence point of multiple strategies including the Nanjing Metropolitan Area, the Nanjing-Hangzhou Economic Belt and the Nanjing-Xuanyang-Huangshan Growth Belt, Gaochun has become an ideal location for the layout of the food industry, thanks to its 70% ecological conservation coverage rate, a three-dimensional transportation network of “air, rail, road, rail and port”, and the lowest industrial land cost in the city. As an important part of the “One Zone and Three Parks” strategy of the Development zone, Nanjing Urban Food Industrial Park has a planned area of 5.5 square kilometers and focuses on developing four major directions: urban food, snack food, nutritious and healthy food, and deep processing of aquatic products. At present, the construction of the start-up area is becoming increasingly mature. The infrastructure such as water supply, power supply, steam pipelines and sewage pretreatment has been fully connected. A 44,000-square-meter high-standard food factory has been put into use. 17 food enterprises have settled in the park, among which 5 are large-scale production enterprises. The output value is expected to reach 1.09 billion yuan in 2024, with an average growth rate of 8.6% over the past four years. The agglomeration effect of industries has steadily increased.
The food industry connects people’s livelihood with development. This “Gaochun Tour” event has enabled enterprises to find opportunities and allowed the industry to see the future. Next, Gaochun District will create a more favorable business environment and more practical service measures to fully build an industrial fertile ground where “investment is reassuring, entrepreneurship is comfortable, and development is smooth”.
