Commercial aerospace is frequently searched, how to lay out Nanjing?

With the progress of aerospace science and technology

It is getting closer and closer to our lives

As a “new growth engine”, commercial aerospace was written into the government work report for the first time this year. Not only has it been repeatedly searched, but it has also set off an investment boom in China. On August 20, Nanjing held a press conference to inform and interpret the recently issued “Nanjing Action Plan for Cultivating and Developing Commercial Aerospace Industry” (hereinafter referred to as the “Action Plan”), which clarified the development roadmap.

From low altitude to space,

What is Nanjing’s next game?

From low altitude to space

Nanjing’s sky is a bit busy

  • On the ground, the Beidou ground-based augmentation station covers “one network across the country”;
  • At low altitude, UAVs are used in logistics, emergency rescue, medical treatment, agriculture, inspection, etc.;
  • In space, aerospace is no longer the exclusive domain of the “national team”, and more and more civilian forces are participating in the exploration journey……

these years

The sky overhead is getting “busy”

In May this year, Nanjing held a low-altitude economic development conference and officially released the “Implementation Plan for Promoting the High-quality Development of Low-altitude Economy in Nanjing (2024-2026)”, proposing that by 2026, the city’s low-altitude economic industry scale development will exceed 50 billion yuan, and more than 120 low-altitude routes will be opened, striving to promote the development of Nanjing’s low-altitude economy to rank first in the country.

The low-altitude economy is in the ascendant

Nanjing’s commercial aerospace is also accelerating its layout.

In fact, Nanjing’s aerospace industry has a good “family background”, and has gathered nearly 80 enterprises such as CLP 14, CLP Rice, Chenguang Group, Nanjing Electromechanical Hydraulics, etc., and has built an industrial system focusing on power system manufacturing, airborne system manufacturing, UAV research and development, and air traffic control system development.

In addition, Nanjing has Nanjing University of Aeronautics and Astronautics, Nanjing University of Science and Technology and many other universities related to aviation, and has 2 national key technology laboratories, 3 national defense key laboratories and other innovation platforms, a total of 12 academicians of the Chinese Academy of Aerospace and the Chinese Academy of Aeronautics and Astronautics, and rich resources of scientific and educational talents.

In June last year, the “Nanjing Action Plan for Promoting Industrial Strengthening (2023-2025)” included the aerospace industry in the “2+6+6” innovative industrial cluster.

The “Action Plan” issued this time puts forward the goal of actively building a commercial aerospace industry innovation center and development highland with national influence. A total of 16 tasks have been clarified, including building a commercial aerospace industry chain, promoting collaborative innovation of industry, university, research and application, cultivating commercial aerospace application scenarios, and promoting the efficient development of industrial agglomeration.

“Take the lead” in the deep integration of production, education and research

At 12:15 on May 21, the “Star Ring · Nanxin Star” was launched from China’s Jiuquan Satellite Launch Base and successfully entered the predetermined orbit, and the launch mission was a complete success. This is the first satellite of China’s first commercial infrared meteorological constellation project, and it is also China’s first satellite to professionally monitor wildfires.

As early as 2018, Nanjing University of Information Science & Technology, together with the Jianye District Government and Shanghai Weixing Technology, a leading commercial aerospace company, cooperated to establish the Nanjing Xinda Satellite Application Research Institute, which is also one of the first new R&D institutions signed in Hexi CBD, Jianye District.

The key core technology research is inseparable from the close cooperation of industry, university and research. The “Action Plan” makes it clear that we will deepen cooperation between industry, academia, research and application, and promote the joint development of technological innovation and achievement transformation between universities and key enterprises. Give full play to the leading advantages of the industrial platform, promote the interactive development of the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain, and focus on building an industrial independent innovation ecosystem.

In addition, Nanjing will promote the research of core technologies, accelerate the research of the underlying technology of the satellite Internet, and accelerate the breakthrough of common technologies for the commercial application of communication and remote communication. Encourage research and development in key areas such as recyclable rocket technology. At the same time, we will promote the construction of innovation platforms, jointly build key laboratories in commercial aerospace applications such as remote sensing surveying and mapping, satellite-to-ground linkage, etc., and enhance the support capacity of major innovation carriers for the development of the commercial aerospace industry.
