On November 27th, the East China Branch of the International Trading Center for Electronic Components and Integrated Circuits was officially inaugurated in Gulou District, Nanjing City. A supply and demand matching meeting for related industries was held simultaneously
The establishment of the East China Branch Center marks the official establishment of the International Trading Center for Electronic Components and Integrated Circuits in the ancient capital Jinling, becoming a “key piece of the puzzle” in Nanjing’s integrated circuit industry ecosystem, and also a new “heavyweight member” in the “central enterprise matrix” of Gulou District.
National platform, strength as the foundation
At present, digital technology is leading industrial transformation at an unprecedented speed, and electronic components and integrated circuits are the “core cornerstones” of the digital economy. The International Trading Center for Electronic Components and Integrated Circuits has built an efficient and convenient “bridge” for the global electronic information industry.
The Components Trading Center was jointly approved and established by the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology, the National Development and Reform Commission, and the Ministry of Commerce. It was led by China Electronics Corporation and Shenzhen Investment Holdings Co., LTD., and jointly established by 11 central enterprises, state-owned enterprises, and private enterprises. It shoulders the mission of building a trillion-yuan international trading center. The establishment of its East China branch center in Gulou is a testament to the unique charm and profound heritage of Gulou as the “preferred investment destination for central enterprises”.
Gulou has become a hot spot for central enterprises to compete for layout. Among the 100 central enterprises managed by the State-owned Assets Supervision and Administration Commission, 46 have chosen to focus on this area, setting up over 210 branches, ranking first in the province in terms of the number. The reputation of “the No. 1 District in Jiangsu Province for attracting and serving central enterprises” has spread far and wide. While fulfilling the function of a “city living room”, Gulou has risen to become a strategic new highland for central enterprises to layout in East China with an open and inclusive attitude.
Industrial hub, connecting the world
As the carrier of the national integrated circuit industry, Nanjing has always placed this strategic industry at the core of its overall development. In the central urban area, Gulou District has gathered a number of emerging enterprises in the field of integrated circuits, such as Niobao Optoelectronics and Yangxiao Electronics. The selection of Gulou as the location for the East China Branch of the International Trading Center for Electronic Components and Integrated Circuits is a deep resonance of industrial endowment and regional advantages.
After the establishment of the East China Branch of the Components Trading Center, it will be based in Nanjing, radiate to Jiangsu Province, and serve the East China region. It will focus on the power, automotive, computer and communication fields, providing efficient and secure supply chain services such as user centralized procurement, tail material auctions, inquiry and comparison, and digital intelligence services for the industry. Meanwhile, the East China Branch Center will attract enterprises from the upstream and downstream of the industrial chain to settle in, achieve positive interaction and deep integration with enterprises at all links, and quickly build an industry transaction hub.
And Gulou will also become an “exchange” for supply and demand matching in the global electronic components and integrated circuits field, an “accelerator” for technology transformation, and a “gravitational field” for industrial agglomeration, as well as an industrial hub that links East China, serves the whole country, and connects the world.
In the near future, more upstream and downstream enterprises will converge in Gulou like rivers flowing into the sea, adding more “aggregation engines” to the “digital run” of the central urban area.

Since Nanjing City and China Electronics Corporation officially signed a cooperation memorandum, clearly promoting the establishment of the East China Branch of the International Trading Center for Electronic Components and Integrated Circuits, with the support of the municipal industrial and information technology department, the main leaders of Gulou District have personally taken charge and provided on-site guidance, leading the working team of Gulou High-tech Zone to visit Shenzhen many times, proactively connecting and paying door-to-door visits, embarking on a precise and efficient “ice-breaking journey”.
In September this year, the trading center team made a special return visit to Nanjing. Every exchange directly addresses the issues we care about the most. Whether it’s carrier space, data collaboration, or talent support, Gulou has come up with professional and practical solutions. The person in charge of the trading center said, “It is precisely this sincerity and efficiency that truly touched us.”
At the end of October, the management of the trading center reached a preliminary opinion – to cooperate with Gulou to jointly build the East China Branch Center for electronic components. A high-level cooperation between the government and enterprises eventually led to the significant launch of a national-level platform. It can be foreseen that in the future, this place will not only be the convergence point of a large amount of data transactions, but also become a broad “stage” for the resonance of national strategies and regional ambitions.
