Recently, the Nanjing headquarters of China Baowu Iron and Steel Group was inaugurated. Han Liming, Secretary of the Municipal Party Committee, Chen Zhichang, Mayor of Baowu Group, Hu Wangming, Secretary of the Party Committee and Chairman of Baowu Group, and Hou Angui, General Manager, attended the unveiling ceremony.
Baowu Group and Nanjing have a deep historical origin and a solid foundation for cooperation, and the two sides have supported each other and cooperated pragmatically for a long time, and have gone through more than half a century of common development. According to the new round of cooperation agreement between the municipal government and Baowu Group in 2023, Baowu Group has established China Baowu Nanjing headquarters after preparation. Relying on the management system of Meigang Company, the Nanjing headquarters will be responsible for the coordination and docking of Baowu Group’s affiliated enterprises and local governments in Jiangsu, coordinate and promote the development of Baowu in Nanjing, enterprise transformation and other matters, further improve the efficiency of resource allocation, and support the continuous expansion of regional business.
Han Liming and Chen Zhichang welcomed Hu Wangming, Hou Angui and their entourage, and expressed their gratitude to Baowu Group for its long-term care and support to Nanjing.
Han Liming said that at present, Nanjing is studying and implementing the spirit of the Third Plenary Session of the 20th Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech on the work of Jiangsu, implementing the major requirements of “accelerating the development of new quality productive forces according to local conditions”, and further promoting the construction of a strong industrial city.
Baowu is the national team and leader of the iron and steel industry, and the direction of “high-end, intelligent, green and efficient” of the enterprise is highly consistent with the needs of Nanjing to build a strong industrial city and a strong manufacturing city.
It is hoped that Baowu will take the establishment of Nanjing headquarters as an opportunity to solidly promote the early cooperation projects and the construction of Meishan Industrial Science and Technology Innovation Demonstration Zone and advanced manufacturing base, and introduce more innovative resources and high-quality projects around new materials, intelligent manufacturing, industrial Internet, green and low-carbon and other fields, so as to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results, and work together to promote high-quality development. Nanjing will provide a first-class business environment for enterprises to become stronger, better and bigger.
Hu Wangming said that Nanjing’s obvious geographical advantages, solid industrial foundation, abundant scientific and educational human resources, and pragmatic and efficient service enterprises, and the business performance of Meigang and other enterprises in Nanjing have risen against the trend, which is inseparable from the strong support of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee and Municipal Government.In the next step, Baowu will continue to actively integrate into the national strategic layout such as the integration of the Yangtze River Delta, continue to deepen the cultivation of Nanjing, increase investment in Nanjing, and make every effort to promote the construction of various cooperation projects, so as to make new and greater contributions to the high-quality development of Nanjing.
