China and Serbia signed the Memorandum of Understanding

On May 8, during President Xi Jinping’s visit to Serbia, Wang Wentao, Minister of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China, and Tomislav Momirovic, Minister of Domestic and Foreign Trade of Serbia, signed the Memorandum of Understanding on E-commerce Cooperation between the Ministry of Commerce of the People’s Republic of China and the Ministry of Domestic and Foreign Trade of the Republic of Serbia in Belgrade.

China and Serbia have strong political mutual trust, high-quality Belt and Road cooperation has yielded fruitful results, strong economic and trade cooperation, and broad prospects for cooperation in the field of e-commerce. According to the MOU, the two sides will establish an e-commerce cooperation mechanism, strengthen policy communication and experience sharing, promote local cooperation, carry out joint research and personnel training, encourage enterprises of the two countries to carry out e-commerce cooperation, promote the docking between small and medium-sized enterprises and large e-commerce platforms, and inject new momentum into the development of bilateral economic and trade relations.

So far, China has established bilateral e-commerce cooperation mechanisms with 31 countries, including Serbia.
