On October 28, Mayor Chen Zhichang met with a delegation from Standard Chartered China, led by Jean Lu, Chief Executive Officer (“CEO”), China and Executive Vice Chairperson of the Board of Standard Chartered Bank (China) Limited.
In recent years, Nanjing has stepped up efforts to develop a modern financial system and constantly boost industry growth, with a focus on establishing itself as a key financial center and a pilot financial reform zone for sci-tech innovation. Standard Chartered Bank, a leading global banking group, has leveraged its unique advantages to continuously expand financial support and deliver efficient services, making significant contributions to Nanjing’s economic and social development.
Mr. Chen Zhichang welcomed Jean Lu and her delegation, expressing his gratitude to Standard Chartered for its care and support for Nanjing.
He expressed hope that Standard Chartered would focus on sci-tech innovation and the open economy, enhance communication and practical cooperation with Nanjing, and continuously expand financial products and services, with an aim to promote deeper integration of finance with the real economy and achieve mutual benefits. Nanjing will continue to promote high-standard opening-up, enhance its market-oriented, law-based and international business environment, and provide quality support for foreign financial institutions operating in the city.
