On the morning of March 11, the first symposium with the theme of biomedicine was held. Municipal Party Committee Secretary Zhou Hongbo held a discussion with private entrepreneurs in the field of biomedicine in our city, deeply studied the spirit of General Secretary Xi Jinping’s important speech during the private enterprise symposium and participation in the Jiangsu delegation’s deliberation, asked for demands and listened to opinions, and jointly studied and promoted the high-quality development of the biomedicine industry.

Zhou Hongbo said that General Secretary Xi Jinping has high hopes for private enterprises and private entrepreneurs, and his important speech at the private enterprise symposium boosts confidence, warms people’s hearts and inspires people to move forward. The General Secretary has repeatedly pointed out that the biopharmaceutical industry is a strategic emerging industry that concerns the national economy and people’s livelihood and national security.
After ten years of unremitting efforts, the development of Nanjing’s bio-pharmaceutical industry is in an important stage of accelerating its takeoff. At present, opportunities and challenges in the biopharmaceutical industry coexist, and opportunities outweigh challenges. We hope that enterprises will seize opportunities, strengthen confidence, work hard, and vigorously promote the industry to become stronger, bigger and better.
Zhou Hongbo said that the key to industrial development depends on innovation, and innovation depends on enterprises. Private enterprises are the main force in innovation in the biopharmaceutical industry. We must better play the main role and work with Nanjing to build a national highland for innovation and development of biopharmaceuticals.
We must bravely climb the peak of science and technology , make good use of Nanjing’s rich scientific and educational resources, coordinate the coordination between government, industry, academia and research, promote original and leading scientific and technological research, and launch more first sets and first-class drugs.
We must build an industrial forest together , focus on gene and cell therapy, innovative drug research and development, high-end medical devices, synthetic biology and other fields, and cultivate more listed companies and small giant companies.
We must deepen the market blue ocean , focus on health management, chronic disease prevention and control, and medical and nursing integration, explore diversified needs, create high-quality supply, and better meet the people’s ever-elevated health needs.
Zhou Hongbo said that a first-class industrial ecology requires the joint efforts of an effective market and the effective government. Nanjing will focus on building platforms, optimizing policies, and gathering talents to provide the best environment for the development of biopharmaceutical enterprises.
