On January 11, the 2025 Green Shipping Innovation and Development Conference was held at the Shum Yip Riverside Center in Gulou District, Nanjing. The conference was jointly organized by Nanjing Xiaguan Binjiang Business District Management Committee, China Electrotechnical Society, Nanjing Transportation Development Center, and Gulou District Science and Technology Bureau. Leaders from Jiangsu Association for Science and Technology, Municipal Transportation Bureau, Gulou District Government and other departments attended the meeting, as well as universities and colleges inside and outside the province such as Shanghai Maritime University, Dalian Maritime University, Jiangsu Maritime Vocational and Technical College, Nanjing Maritime Safety Administration, Yangtze River Pilotage Center, Provincial Port Group, etc. Long-range shipping system units, shipping and logistics industry business associations, some local companies of central enterprises, provincial and municipal state-owned enterprises, and shipping and logistics companies were invited to attend the meeting.

In recent years, while consolidating and strengthening the shipping and logistics service industry, Gulou District has paid more attention to the transformation of old and new kinetic energy in the industry. In the dynamic transformation of “quality” and “quantity”, it has continuously cultivated “green and low-carbon” development momentum. In 2022, we will cooperate with the China Electrotechnical Society to establish the Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Center to carry out innovation research in the shipping industry. In 2023, in cooperation with the Nanjing Science and Technology Innovation Center and Shanghai Maritime University, the three parties will jointly build the “Green Shipping Industry-Education Integration Innovation Center” collaborative innovation platform to promote theoretical research and the transformation of results.
At this conference, the three parties further deepened their cooperation and jointly built the province’s first “Hydrogen Powered Ship Safety Testing Technology Research Laboratory” .

At this conference, Nanjing Maritime Safety Administration, China Classification Society Jiangsu Branch, Nanjing COSCO Shipping Logistics Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Guoxin Digital Intelligence Service Co., Ltd. all provided suggestions for the innovative development of the shipping logistics industry, focusing on green port construction, green ship inspection and In terms of certification, multimodal transport, and green shipping financial services, multiple innovative application scenarios were demonstrated. For water search and rescue in the industry, Shanghai Intelligent Maritime Search and Rescue and Underwater Robot Engineering Technology Research Center and Jiangsu Sugang Navigation Engineering Co., Ltd. have reached a cooperation to jointly carry out the research and development of intelligent search and rescue equipment, innovative applications of underwater robot technology, and intelligent upgrade of search and rescue command systems.
In order to further promote cooperation between government, industry, academia and research, Nanjing University of Posts and Telecommunications and China Merchants Jinling Shipbuilding (Nanjing) Co., Ltd., Nanjing Water Conservancy Research Institute and Nanjing Surun Technology Development Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Carbon Peak Carbon Neutral Technology Strategy Research Institute and Hua Set Design Group Environmental Technology Co., Ltd., Nanjing Transportation Development Center and Jiangsu Haosanyou Information Technology Co., Ltd. have signed cooperation agreements respectively to develop AI applications in ship manufacturing, smart ship locks and control, shipping carbon asset development and operation, and smart shipping. Cooperate in key areas such as platforms.
At the event site, 8 units including Jiangsu Changjianghui Technology Co., Ltd., Jiangsu Pengfei New Energy Logistics Co., Ltd., and Jiangsu Global Metrics Maritime Technology Consulting Group Co., Ltd. provided intellectual support and made innovative contributions in the construction of Xiaguan Shipping Logistics Service Cluster.
