○ Here, the Puyi Highway, Yanziji Yangtze River Tunnel, 3 subway lines, Nanjing North Railway Station… a three-dimensional road network has been initially formed.
Here, the Yangtze River coastline is 5.5 kilometers long, and there are 19 rivers with a total length of about 43 kilometers.
This is the first stop across the river on Metro Line 3. The times of getting up early and returning home late are both times of struggle in the long years.
his is Yanjiang Street.
Why is it called Yanjiang?
⇩
This is an urban district that grew up on the river beach. The Yangtze River is mighty and surging forward, and its development trajectory is closely linked to the Yangtze River, hence the name “Yanjiang”.
From a geographical point of view, Yanjiang Street in Jiangbei New District is adjacent to the Yangtze River in the east, with a coastline of 5.5 kilometers. The current Yangtze River embankment was built after 1998.
Before this, along the river, there were only three earthen ridges to help villagers block the floods during the annual flood season. When there was flooding, people temporarily evacuated, and when the water went away, they started over. For the old people along the river, the Yangtze River is still the source of life for this land.
After 1998, water conservancy projects were tackled and the Yangtze River embankment was built year by year. Since then, people along the river no longer have to worry about the annual flood season, and the three ridges have withdrawn from the stage of history. That period of history built a solid embankment and also forged the backbone of the people along the river to endure hardships. To this day, the pragmatic, tenacious, tolerant and hardworking spirit of the people along the river still inspires generations of new people along the river to work hard and contribute to this hot land.
