On December 9, the 2024 Amazon Global Selling Cross-Border Summit opened in Nanjing. Zhou Hongbo, secretary of the municipal party committee, met with Eric Broussard, global vice president of Amazon and head of third-party international business, and Dai Xuefei, global vice president of Amazon and executive president of global selling in Asia Pacific. Mayor Chen Zhichang attended the opening ceremony and delivered a speech.
Amazon Global Selling Cross-border Summit is an annual major event for China’s cross-border e-commerce industry. With the theme of “High-quality Overseas Expansion, Innovative Chain Future”, this summit focuses on cross-border e-commerce innovation support, opportunity expansion, and local empowerment. More than 30 new initiatives have been released, aiming to fully empower cross-border e-commerce sellers to “go overseas with high quality”. The summit will host a number of industry events and parallel forums to jointly discuss the upgrading and innovation paths of the cross-border e-commerce industry.
Zhou Hongbo congratulated the Amazon Global Selling Cross-border Summit on being held in Nanjing for the first time. He said that cross-border e-commerce is an important support for cultivating new momentum for foreign trade and serving the construction of a new development pattern. The convening of the summit will better play the leading role of Amazon’s global cross-border e-commerce platform, further enhance the openness and radiation of Nanjing, an important hub city at the intersection of the “Belt and Road” and an international consumer center city, and achieve complementary advantages and win-win cooperation.
We hope to work closely with Amazon, give full play to the advantages of the National Cross-border E-commerce Comprehensive Pilot Zone, strive to create a market-oriented, law-based, and internationalized business environment, actively build a good cross-border e-commerce ecosystem, better pool trade resources, make good use of innovation resources, and develop industrial resources. This will effectively promote companies’ overseas expansion and foreign investment, and jointly promote the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce.
Chen Zhichang said that Nanjing will implement the three-year action plan to promote the high-quality development of cross-border e-commerce, support more companies to “upgrade online” to carry out cross-border e-commerce business, vigorously attract well-known cross-border e-commerce companies to settle in Nanjing, actively participate in cross-border e-commerce technology innovation, business integration, and standard setting, and strive to create a new highland for the development of cross-border e-commerce.
We hope that Amazon and Nanjing will continue to deepen cooperation and establish a more precise and stable supply chain partnership. We look forward to the participating companies to come to Nanjing, invest in Nanjing, share opportunities, discuss cooperation, and work together to achieve a higher level of mutual benefit and win-win results.
Eric Broussard thanked the Nanjing government for its strong support for the summit, saying that the two sides have a good cooperative relationship and huge potential for future cooperation. He hopes to create more cooperation opportunities through the summit, such as industrial belt development, brand building, service provider network ecosystem construction and cross-border e-commerce talent training, to help more companies sell their products to the world at a lower cost and with greater convenience, and better serve consumers.The event held a launch ceremony for the upgrade of Amazon Global Selling Nanjing Office, released Amazon Global Selling China 2025 annual strategy, and some guests gave keynote speeches.
