In the view of Stefan Hartung, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Bosch, Nanjing is a hub city for Bosch’s development. His four suggestions for Nanjing are very insightful.
Please briefly describe the development of Bosch in Nanjing and why Bosch has chosen to invest in Nanjing on a sustainable basis?
Nanjing serves as a crucial hub for our company’s business operations in China.Our presence in Nanjing dates back to 1995,and we have been steadily investing and expanding our activities since then.We now have four significant activities in Nanjing,encompassing operations by our Automotive Aftermarket and BSH home appliances divisions.In our role as a leading global supplier of technology and services,Bosch has established three R&D and manufacturing hubs here, dedicated to producing key automotive components,like iBooster, electronic steering, and brake pads.
Nanjing is actively promoting its innovation strategy and sustainable development, and committed to build ESG investment pioneering city in China. Could you please share us what are the future plans for Bosch in Nanjing?
Our innovative solutions support the intelligent and sustainable growth of the local automotive industry.In addition, we freely share our expertise in smart manufacturing, and emissions reductions throughout the value chain,assisting our local partners in their pursuit of dual-carbon goals.Where home appliances are concerned,our BSH subsidiary’s headquarters in Nanjing serves as not only a pivotal manufacturing and R&D hub,but also functions as our Asia-Pacific data center.
Here, we meet the diverse needs of local consumers with sustainable and smart products,thereby enhancing their overall quality of life.Bosch deeply values Nanjing’s industrial foundation, innovative vitality, and cultural charm,and we see a strong potential for an even more promising future.
First, sustain the innovation ecosystem, facilitating cooperation among various innovation entities,and enhancing the city’s attractiveness in order to recruit the best talent.Here we look forward to further collaboration with and support from the local government.
