Recently, with the approval of the State Council, the Ministry of Commerce issued the “Several Measures to Support Suzhou Industrial Park in Deepening Comprehensive Experiments in Openness and Innovation” (hereinafter referred to as the “Several Measures”).
The “Several Measures” require that we should adhere to the guidance of Xi Jinping Thought on Socialism with Chinese Characteristics for a New Era, fully implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress and the Second and Third Plenary Sessions of the 20th CPC Central Committee, fully and accurately implement the new development concept, firmly grasp the primary task of high-quality development, cultivate and develop new quality productivity according to local conditions, and better serve the construction of a new development pattern. Based on a comprehensive summary of the experience of the comprehensive experiment of open innovation approved by the State Council in 2015, the “Several Measures” focus on the construction of a two-way open node with world cohesion, the construction of a regional science and technology innovation highland with important influence, the construction of a modern industrial highland with global competitiveness, and the construction of a model of development zone governance that showcases Chinese-style modernization, and propose 14 measures in four major tasks.
In the next step, the Ministry of Commerce will work closely with relevant departments of the State Council and Jiangsu Province to strengthen the overall coordination and guidance of Suzhou Industrial Park to deepen the comprehensive experiment of opening up and innovation, and promote the effectiveness of various reform tasks. Support Suzhou Industrial Park to take the 30th anniversary of development and construction as a new starting point, accelerate the construction of an open and innovative world-class high-tech park, and set an example for the high-quality development of development zones across the country.
