Nanjing in China’s urban modern agriculture

Based on the characteristics of “big city and small countryside” and the city with a large population and little land, Nanjing has fully utilized the advantages of urban-rural integration and development, and is committed to building a high-level urban modern agricultural city. The relevant person in charge of the Nanjing Municipal Agriculture and Rural Affairs Bureau said that Nanjing has made significant progress in agricultural production, rural life and agricultural ecology.
In promoting “strong comprehensive functions”Nanjing has achieved stable and positive agricultural production, more harmonious rural life, and continuous improvement of agricultural ecology. This year, the area, total output, and yield of summer grain have increased, and the total grain output for the whole year is expected to exceed 990,000 tons. At the same time, the improvement of rural living environment has achieved positive results, and 75 provincial-level livable, business-friendly and beautiful villages have been cultivated, and 3 first-batch provincial-level livable, business-friendly and beautiful rural areas have been created.
In addition, Nanjing has also promoted the application of green technologies such as energy conservation, water conservation, fertilizer conservation, and pesticide conservation in modern agriculture, reduced the use of chemical fertilizers and chemical pesticides in the city, and continued to promote the ecological restoration of the Nanjing section of the Yangtze River.In terms of building “strong scientific and technological equipment”
In Nanjing, we have fully utilized the advantages of the “national” agricultural science and technology innovation platforms such as the National Agricultural High-tech Zone, the Agricultural Innovation Center and the Zhongshan Breeding Biological Laboratory, and cultivated and developed more than 80 agricultural high-tech enterprises, with a contribution rate of more than 74% in agricultural science and technology progress. At the same time, Nanjing has also optimized the support of scientific and technological services, created the “Science and Finance Agriculture Service Day” platform, carried out more than 40 docking activities, built a total of 12 “unmanned farms”, and the comprehensive mechanization rate of crop cultivation and harvesting has reached 87%.
In addition, Nanjing has also promoted the “Intelligent Integration of Agriculture, Rural Areas and Farmers” talent project, implemented a tuition subsidy policy for young college students who are “new farmers”, introduced 341 young college students who are “new farmers”, and cultivated a total of 380 “leading goose seedlings” in agriculture and rural areas.In promoting “strong business entities”Nanjing has implemented the action plan to boost new agricultural operators, and has cultivated 70 provincial-level leading agricultural enterprises, 7,616 family farms, and 3,970 farmer cooperatives. At the same time, it has also improved the policy support system, created the “Jinling” series of agricultural financial products, and reduced the comprehensive financing costs of agricultural operators.
In addition, Nanjing has also improved the mechanism of linking farmers and leading farmers, cultivated 9 industrial alliances such as high-quality rice, established a three-level family farm service alliance system of “1+7+37”, created 80 industrial consortia, and cultivated 811 various types of agricultural social service organizations.In leading the “strong industrial benefits”Nanjing adheres to the chain thinking to drive the quality and efficiency of modern urban agriculture, and creates a full industrial chain development pattern for eight characteristic industries such as high-quality rice. New formats and industries such as rural tourism, creative leisure, and short-chain fresh food are booming, driving surrounding farmers to increase their income.
At the same time, Nanjing has also accelerated the construction of agricultural product brands, and has cultivated a total of 589 “two products and one standard” agricultural products, leading the province in number.In terms of empowering “strong competitiveness”Nanjing continues to play the role of enriching people mechanisms such as “work therapy for farmers”, “Ningjie Yuesao”, rural nursing workers, and courtyard economy. In the first half of the year, the per capita disposable income of rural residents in the city continued to grow. At the same time, Nanjing also promoted comprehensive rural reforms, further expanded the results of the construction of national rural reform pilot zones, and the reform experience of village-community account sharing was promoted nationwide.
In addition, Nanjing has also promoted the standardization of rural property rights transfer transactions throughout the city. Lishui and Gaochun have been selected as national urban-rural integration development pilot areas, and the province’s first carbon ticket (agricultural carbon ticket) was successfully traded in Gaochun District.
