On September 8, the Ministry of Commerce and three other departments issued the “Notice on Carrying out Pilot Work on Expanding Openness in the Medical Field”, proposing to allow the establishment of wholly foreign-owned hospitals in nine places including Nanjing.
Nanjing Wutong Dental Hospital is the first wholly-owned Taiwanese hospital to be established in Nanjing after the implementation of the new policy. The establishment of the new hospital not only represents the investment confidence of enterprises in Nanjing, but also will bring more diversified choices for citizens to seek medical treatment.
