Following the signing of a double hundred-billion industry development agreement between Jiangning Development Zone and NARI Group Corporation, the Engineering Technology Forum of CAE & the 9th Purple Mountain Forum were held at NARI Group Corporation during August 17–18. More than 60 academicians and scholars from China, the United Kingdom and Canada convened to explore cutting-edge technological trends under the theme “new energy system with new power system as critical support”.
The Purple Mountain Forum has established a prestigious, open and international academic exchange platform for the global energy industry. Experts and scholars worldwide gathered to engage in in-depth discussions on pioneering academic issues and the development of new energy and power systems. The forum featured 7 special sessions, where 46 experts and scholars presented specialized reports on topics such as the stability and protection control of new types of power systems. Additionally, the main forum included an award ceremony for outstanding papers, announcing the inclusion of 58 papers, which will be compiled and published by Springer-Verlag.
The chairman of NARI stated that with the rapid development of new energy, profound changes have occurred in power production methods and operational mechanisms. More than ever before, electric power enterprises urgently need technological innovation to secure a strategic advantage in the construction of new power systems. The platform allows industry participants to exchange new insights and propose innovative methods.
As a domestic power and energy forum with significant international influence, a series of academic activities about the Purple Mountain Forum was initiated and named in 2015 by academicians of CAE and the honorary president of NARI (State Grid Electric Power Research Institute). Since its inception, more than 100 academic events have been held. The Purple Mountain Forum, a key annual event in this series, has attracted 40 academicians and over 250 renowned experts and scholars from 17 countries, including China, the United States, the United Kingdom and Germany, to share their insights. From 2020 to 2022, it was successfully included in the annual International Top-level Forum on Engineering Science and Technology of CAE for three consecutive years, becoming a prominent symbol of Nanjing on the global stage.
