On Green Link Road in Jiangjiang Subdistrict of Jiangbei New District, “Nanjing Meigu” has recently become a frequently visited destination in Xu Jinrong’s navigation system.
Every few days, he has to head to Jiangbei. When the car turns into the park, sometimes he goes to check the progress of the production line decoration, and sometimes he goes to chat with friends about cooperation. Occasionally, he will also bring several foreign clients along: “Look, this is my new factory!”
Xu Jinrong is the chairman of Drip Bio. His company is a raw material supplier for many domestic and international cosmetic brands. Not long ago, Nanjing Meigu Park was opened and they became one of the first enterprises to move in.

In an entire park, everyone is connected through their “circle of friends”.
“The first floor has sufficient height. We plan to build a storage area there. The second floor will be our 100,000-level GMP standard production workshop. The third floor needs to be divided into several laboratories, including a new raw material research laboratory, an applied research laboratory, and an efficacy research laboratory…”
At Building No. 10 in Meigu District, Xu Jinrong introduced the new factory under construction to everyone.
This scene had been on his mind for a long time. As a technology-oriented enterprise, Dianwei Biotechnology focuses on providing high-quality functional raw materials for domestic and international cosmetics and personal care products. However, as the company grew faster, the production lines became increasingly tight. For a long time, they had to rely on outsourcing to make up for the production capacity gap. When there were many orders, the production schedules would conflict.
“Especially when going abroad for exhibitions and negotiations, many overseas customers would request on-site factory inspections,” Xu Jinrong said. The team had been looking for a suitable new site and had visited many places. Eventually, they chose to locate in Meigu District, Nanjing – Ecology was the key factor in the team’s decision.
For instance, right beside you are “old acquaintances”. At the other end of the park, the signing enterprise United Aesthetics is a client of Drip Bio. The two companies, one engaged in upstream raw materials and the other focusing on the integration of cosmetics and skincare, have business connections. The closer proximity will lead to a more closely-knit cooperation. In the future, from raw materials to finished products, perhaps it will just be a “turn left” distance, and the logistics and warehousing costs will also be significantly reduced.
Another example is that the research institute is right beside you. In Building 8, the functional plant component research and manufacturing center of the Nanjing Wild Plant Comprehensive Utilization Institute of the All-China Federation of Supply and Marketing Cooperatives is set up to provide comprehensive technical support for the enterprises that move in. This means that when facing problems in the formulation, you can just walk a few steps to find the experts to look at it together, which gives the team a lot of “security”.
Partners, research institutes, “friends circle” are all gathered in the same park. As Xu Jinrong joked, “Just by looking at the positioning, they are all ‘across the street’.”
It is understood that this time, Drip Bio brought its wholly-owned subsidiary Dianyuan Bio along when moving in. After the new factory reaches its production capacity, it can produce 500 tons of 3D hydrogel and alfalfa saponin, as well as 200 tons of biobased material products, etc. The factory is expected to be completed in September, just in time for the company’s 6th anniversary. For the team, it is also a brand new start.
02 Technology platform and factory, all “shared”
Not only Drip Bio, but also in Nanjing Meigu, there are many factories under renovation on the spot. This specialized park targeting the beauty health industry has most of its first-phase factories already “booked”, and a number of enterprises are in negotiation.
The relevant person in charge of Meigu introduced that when attracting partners, the park has made many considerations and screenings, in order to fully connect the industrial chain and make the入驻 enterprises “close together and get along well”. Everyone is no longer doing things separately， but “forming a group to move forward together”.
Such a concept is gradually taking shape in Nanjing Meigu Li.
Currently, the functional plant component research and manufacturing center of the Nanjing Wild Plant Comprehensive Utilization Research Institute is under construction. Various technical platforms such as target validation, pilot-scale production, and large-scale production will be implemented more quickly, providing support for other enterprises. In the park， there are also over 10，000 square meters of shared factories in the process of development， open to the entire industry. Even for small-scale prototypes of just a few hundred pieces， this place can support them.
Longer-term planning is also in the works. The park and the enterprises are planning to each contribute a portion of their patents to form a “shared patent pool”， achieving full interconnection； in the park， a “shared exhibition hall” will also be set up， where each enterprise’s good products can be displayed， live-streamed， and sold together； even future exhibition booths will also move towards the “shared” direction.
“What we aim to achieve is to make the phrase ‘Nanjing Meigu’ a brand,” said the relevant official. “Each enterprise that settles here is part of the brand matrix.”
It’s no longer about “going it alone”, but about being interrelated and moving forward together. When a group of enterprises stand together, it represents a broader future.
