Two international events have been set up in Jianye.

Good news! The WDSF Asian Sports Dance Festival and the Taekwondo Grand Slam World Youth Club League Finals, two major international events, will be held in Jianye District for three consecutive years from 2026 to 2028.
This is an important measure taken by Jianye District to deeply respond to the national strategy of building a sports power country and to assist Nanjing in building a world sports city. It is also the continuation and elevation of Nanjing’s sports genes as a “Youth Olympics City”, and will inject new sports vitality and international influence into this modern international city center.

The spirit of the Youth Olympic Games reignites in Jianye, making it the center of the global youth sports stage.

In 2014, the Nanjing Youth Olympic Games left a profound sports legacy and youthful imprint on this city. Twelve years later, the consecutive hosting of two major international events marks that Jianye is building a new global platform for youth sports cultural exchanges, centered on the “Youth Olympic IP”.
The WDSF Asian Sports Dance Festival, as one of the largest sports dance events in the world, integrates competition, art and culture, covering the age groups of young people, teenagers and children. With the innovative form of “integration of competitions and festivals”, it creates a comprehensive carnival encompassing professional competitions, charity master classes, youth training, industry exhibitions and other contents.
The 2026 event is scheduled to be held from July 15th to 19th. It is expected to attract 4,000 dancers and young athletes from 50 countries and regions to participate, and multiple events such as championships, grand finals and open competitions will be held simultaneously.

The Grand Slam World Youth Club League Finals of Taekwondo is an innovative world-class event jointly launched by Changtong Culture and international sports organizations. It is a “cradle for future champions” specifically designed for global teenagers.
The 2026 finals will be held from August 7th to 9th. It features 7 major events including individual competition, team competition, pattern, taekwondo dance, virtual taekwondo, etc., covering all age groups from infants to young adults. It is expected to attract 5,000 young practitioners from 20 countries and regions to compete on the same stage.

The integration of culture, commerce, tourism and sports to create a new ecosystem for “Jianye Sports Business District” – Two major events will be held at Nanjing International Expo Center. This venue is located in the core area of Heshi New Town and enjoys the inherent advantages of a combined “sports + consumption” model featuring a cluster of venues, hotels and business districts.
Surrounding areas include high-end commercial complexes such as Guanjing Center, Deji World Trade Center and Huacai Tianzi, and within a 3-kilometer radius, there are well-equipped mid-to-high-end hotel facilities, capable of providing nearly 10,000 room services.

With the consecutive hosting of these two major events, Jianye will take this as an opportunity to promote the deep integration of “culture, commerce, tourism, sports and exhibition”, and build a “sports-themed business district” centered around the “Zigong Olympic IP”.
During the event period, it will collaborate with surrounding commercial facilities to hold a series of activities such as sports-themed markets, cultural performances, and youth sports interactive experiences, creating a new consumption scenario of “visiting Jianye along with the events”, and converting sports traffic into an increment for regional economic development.

The global concentration of sports elements helps Nanjing build a world-class sports city. Leveraging the advantages of the “Nanjing Olympic Waterfront” – the first batch of high-quality outdoor sports destinations in China – Jianye has established a three-dimensional sports space layout and formed a complete service chain of “events + culture tourism + consumption”.
The consecutive holding of the two major events will deeply align with Jianye’s sports headquarters economic development plan, promoting the agglomeration of upstream and downstream industries such as sports training, event operation, equipment manufacturing, and digital sports, and helping Nanjing build a world-class sports city and become a benchmark and demonstration model for global sports industry development.

From the Youth Olympic Games to the two major international events, Jianye District in Nanjing is using sports as a bond to connect the world and engage in dialogue about the future. Here, it is not only a venue for competitions but also a window for global youth cultural exchanges, an innovation hub for the sports industry, and a center where the city’s vitality thrives. In the next three years, Jianye District will use youth events as an engine to continuously unleash the multiplier effect of sports + culture + business, contributing “Jianye strength” to the construction of the world’s sports metropolis.
