On December 20th, the opening ceremony of the “Linking the Yangtze River Delta ‘Meili’ Fresh Life” 2025 Yangtze River Delta (Lishui) Strawberry Industry Development Exchange Conference and Strawberry Industry Innovation Achievements Exhibition was held at the Nanjing Baima International Agricultural Expo Center.
This event is hosted by the Yangtze River Delta Strawberry Industry Technology Innovation Alliance and organized by the Strawberry Industry Branch of the China Association for the Development and Service of Quality Agricultural Products, Jiangsu Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Industrial Demonstration Zone Development Group Co., LTD., Anhui Zhongshe International Exhibition Group, and the Jiangsu Strawberry Association.
Liu Renxiang, a member of the Party Group of Lishui District Government, said in his speech: We continuously leverage the “multi-zone superposition” advantages of Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone, National Urban-Rural Integration Development Pilot Zone, and National Airport Economic Demonstration Zone. We are committed to the mission of building an international agricultural science and technology cooperation demonstration zone, a source of agricultural science and technology innovation in the Yangtze River Delta, and a model area for rural revitalization through science and technology. We are vigorously developing science and technology agriculture, green agriculture, quality agriculture, and brand agriculture.
Gao Qinghua, secretary-general of the Yangtze River Delta Strawberry Industry Technology Innovation Alliance and a researcher at the Shanghai Academy of Agricultural Sciences, pointed out in his speech: “In the past year, in the face of a complex and volatile market environment and the growing consumer demand, we should take technological innovation as the lead and industrial integration as the bond to jointly promote the high-quality development of the Yangtze River Delta strawberry industry towards superior varieties, excellent quality, branding and standardization.”
Han Daohui, deputy director of the Nanjing Municipal Bureau of Agriculture and Rural Affairs, pointed out: “In the new picture of getting rich, Lishui’s strawberry industry stands out.” The small strawberries have driven the development of a large industry. Nanjing’s strawberry production area is mainly dominated by Lishui District, radiating to multiple agricultural-related regions. It has demonstrated outstanding benefits and the integration of the three industries within the province, becoming one of the core strawberry production areas in the province.”
Wang Kehua, the Party Secretary and Vice President of Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, proposed: “Although strawberries are small, they possess the characteristics of high economic value, high nutritional value and high market acceptance. They are vivid carriers for promoting rural revitalization and increasing farmers’ income and prosperity.” We should seize the opportunity of building a new development pattern and establishing a unified large market across the country, and play a pioneering, exemplary and leading role as well as a radiating and driving role.
Zhao Mizhen, the chairperson of the Yangtze River Delta Strawberry Industry Technology Innovation Alliance and a researcher at the Jiangsu Academy of Agricultural Sciences, released the “Recommended Achievements of the Yangtze River Delta Strawberry Industry in 2025”.
Ma Jinjun, a researcher at the Jiangsu Provincial Agricultural Technology Extension Station, released the “Report on the Promotion of High-quality Strawberries in the Yangtze River Delta in 2025”.
On-site, ceremonies were also held for the authorization of implementation licenses for new strawberry varieties, the presentation of the country’s first “Bay Area Certification” plaque, the distribution of certificates for the “2025 Yangtze River Delta Premium Strawberry” evaluation, and the awarding of plaques for the “Comprehensive Demonstration Base for Innovation Achievements in the Yangtze River Delta Strawberry Industry”.
After the launch ceremony, keynote speeches, industrial promotion and technical exchanges were also held.
As the host of this event, Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Industrial Development Zone is not only a gathering and display window for high-quality resources and innovative achievements, but also an “experimental field” driving industrial transformation. Next, the Agricultural High-tech Zone will continue to optimize the innovation ecosystem, strengthen element guarantees, and fully build a modern “demonstration chain” for the strawberry industry, covering research and development, seedlings, planting, processing, and brand marketing. It will join hands with all partners to jointly turn the Yangtze River Delta region into an innovation source, standard output area, and new value highland for the national strawberry industry. Contribute solid “Agricultural High-tech Zone strength” to the comprehensive revitalization of rural areas and the construction of an agricultural power.
