Recently, with the completion of the last batch of concrete pouring, the main structure of Nanjing Botong Industrial Robot Co., Ltd.’s “Annual Production of 1,000 (Sets) Industrial Robots and Research and Development Project” was officially topped out. This key project with a total investment of 500 million yuan has entered a new construction stage in Nanjing National Agricultural High-tech Zone. From negotiation to implementation, from commencement to topping out, this project that embodies the efforts of multiple parties is telling a vivid story of synchronized development of business environment and industrialization, with its tangible “Agricultural High-tech Zone speed”.
01 Three years of hard work, and the project finally came to fruition.
The core products of this project focus on industrial robots for tasks such as handling, grasping, welding, and painting. The technology is based on the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology. The market is targeted at high-end fields such as automotive manufacturing, and the company has reached cooperation intentions with well-known domestic automotive manufacturers. The company’s director Wang Laiqing recalled, “The cooperation with the Beijing Academy of Science and Technology has been discussed for two or three years. We compared various conditions in many aspects and didn’t make a final decision until 2024, when we finally decided to place the project in the Agricultural High-tech Zone.”
02 “Service of the Agricultural High-tech Zone” Empowers “Bo Tong Speed”
The project officially started construction in June 2025. Within just a few months, the main structure was completed. It is expected to be put into use by mid-June this year. Such a high-speed progress rate is inseparable from the strong support of the project promotion mechanism of the Agricultural High-tech Zone.
The staff member of the Agricultural High-tech Zone Project Promotion Office, Si Guangjun, said: “For high-tech projects like Botong Robots, we always adhere to the principle of ‘circling around the project and focusing on its progress’. We have established a dedicated liaison service mechanism, intervened in advance for guidance, and concurrently advanced all approval processes. We coordinated to solve specific difficulties during the construction, aiming to minimize the project’s implementation cycle and enable enterprises to concentrate on construction and production without distractions.” Si Guangjun’s words reveal the firm concept of the Agricultural High-tech Zone in exchanging development speed for efficient services.
03 From “Prototype” to “Mass Production”, Charting a New Blueprint for Intelligent Manufacturing
According to Wang Laiqing, after the project is put into production, it will continue to advance. In 2026, it plans to supply approximately 60 prototypes to cooperative customers. Through an iterative model of “running while testing, producing while improving”, the product process will be continuously optimized. It is expected that the initial output value can reach approximately 30 million yuan. Once the process is fully mature and the production capacity is fully released, the project’s annual output value is expected to exceed 100 million yuan, injecting strong “intelligent power” into local economic growth.
This project is not only a crucial step for BoTong Company in its future planning, but also an important achievement of the Agricultural High-tech Zone in precisely attracting investment and cultivating new productive forces along the intelligent manufacturing industry chain.
